Really? No one's watching this?

Oscar's FF just went up - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jwuKjhwcys
As also did field report 2, Edgar Groves - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tmEJRa8Wes

That file is still encrypted too

Thanks thebruce! I'm following but a bit behind. Did just watch Oscar's FF and am curious why a note would be slipped under the door when he was waiting for "someone some one." Think "one" is a hint of some kind?

Thanks thebruce. I try to keep up on this. Anyway posted a message on twitter asking Oscar where can we look to get the password for the encrypted message. No response so far.

Finally getting on-board with this... as for the keywords to the encrypted file, I wonder if it doesn't have something to do with Oscar's latest post, "Why Not All FlashForwards are Made Equal":

Quote:
Last week, several sources — who spoke to TruthHack.com on condition of anonymity — reported that the Mosaic Collective was flagging specific keywords in FlashForwards. If one of those keywords is detected in your FlashForward, the Mosaic Collective will request more information.

To verify their claims, these sources conducted experiments in which they posted false FlashForwards with the suspected keywords. The Mosaic Collective flagged all of those FlashForwards. The sources added that these keywords could be found in the "Stories from the Mosaic" that have been featured online.

So I'm wondering if we analyze that section of the site, if we'll be able to figure out the keywords and that might open the file?

that was my thought too... something to do with the keywords. having seen oscar's ff go up on youtube, it immediately made me think there could easily be fake/non-player ff's either on youtube or in the collective's flow...

no idea how much activity this is getting out there on other sites though either Smile wonder if anyone else has cracked the password?

ETA: ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

gives this puzzle.
a big blocky 4, and midi-sounding audio that plays and stops on your clicks.
Decompiled the flash out of curiosity, and no worries - doesn't seem to do much but play and stop.

aaaand
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"utah", from Edgar's story

all words are not equal
puzzles

Cool

I thought the same thing about the words. Because when you go on the join the mosaic site they only accept certain words to find patterns.Other suggestions are rejected so far...haven't found yet that they accept other than the given ones.

OMG...when you drag the cursor over the line in the puzzle, on the "doll" lock you get an absolutely ear shattering sound. yikes... sorry the bruce got this one..thanks

Yay! Solved a puzzle and I helped!

For future ref, there's a "Subtitles" button that you can use instead of listening and trying to decipher what they're saying Smile

I tried pulling out words that might be pertinent, noticed some similarities between the visions and tried those words but had no joy. Thebruce, how did you discover those words, just plugging them in randomly?

ah true, heh. At first I just tried words that popped out. but that only got me the first ff. the 2nd I tried more words, and the last I got frustrated after a couple listenings and just tried any words other than the and it or for etc Razz

now we still have 3 puzzles to solve (or one?) and I think it's safe to assume that once the next 3 ffs are biewable, Oscar will get another note Smile

I had this trouble with another thread that I marked too. I'm following this one along as much as I can. Since I jumped in late, I'm a bit lost but trying to keep up.

Flash Forward
mosaic 108

Cool
I wonder about this.... in one of the promos and on what did you see an image of the phrase "mosaic 108" appears. I wonder if this is a video story on join the mosaic? Found nothing on you tube.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

It's also a location in South America http://southport.jpl.nasa.gov/GRFM/cdrom/2a/DATA/108.HTM not that it means anything right now

Hah, I'm such a doof. (and yep, I saw myself in a formulaic ARG plot!)

So, there were still more to go up. 154 now, another 61 went up an hour ago-ish.

Super Shark Advent Calendar Puzzle

Excelent overview thebruce!
Couple of things to add.
The title for this puzzle is "Super Shark Advent Calendar Puzzle" which is freakin' weird. I know what sharks are, I know what advent calendars are, but what the heck is a Super Shark Advent Calendar?

After inputting the keywords the links to each of the three boxes seem to have 'random' characters after the 'puzzle_##_' They are
Puzzle 01 - zymbiknublos
Puzzle 02 - ecutizjwxkby
Puzzle 03 - olgisfqtetjk

Thinking about puzzle 2 in relation to puzzle three, I wonder if there is any way to maybe tweak the sound from 2 using the 'wave form' from 3, maybe there is something in that sound. If you 'select all' on puzzle 3 you can see what I mean. Also, those boxes in the colors seem to be text area, possibly denoting that an input is required?

On puzzle 1 I used the numbers in the source to pull some letters out of the grid there (using the first number in the two digit numbers to represent x axis and the second for the y) I got this (I'll put it behind spoiler tags, though I doubt it is anything)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
TppyQN
Now I'm not the sharpest with ROTs and what-not so I may be missing something pretty obvious to those that do.

A short list of 'clues' and unsolved elements (nearly all thanks to thebruce)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Puzzle 01
Keyword
DIVINE
Link String
zymbiknublos
Puzzle
sWcNTtCEGRBau
TAlwsMSEpfZdD
ofkimWuyFudTA
PpJaoXgeLSKUM
ordZivThntTwg
uoKtBQpqIHzsY
In Source
57, 42, 29, 38, 66, 14

Puzzle 02
Keyword
DOLL
Link String
ecutizjwxkby

Puzzle 03
Keyword
UTAH
Link String
olgisfqtetjk

One more thing, I don't get flash encoding so can someone tell me if the following from the source on puzzle 2 is anything that might help us?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
<script>
swfobject.embedSWF(
"http://wdig.vo.llnwd.net/d1/mktg/THACK/encrypted/200908241520/site/assets/swfs/4Puzzle2.swf?r=" + Math.round(Math.random() * 10000),
"flash",
"565",
"604",
"10.0.0"

ETA: Oddly I think this has yet to be discussed... In the main page source is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
10.17.172.131

Nothing there, not even assigned, I think? So what's it doing there?

ETA2: The last digits changed to 140. Apparently it is a 'special use" ip essentially for intranet/proxy situations. Check out the "Special-Use Addresses" section of IANA's Abuse Issues F.A.Q.
But still the question remains. What is doing there? Simply an internal reference?

If you check the source code of the puzzles, you'll see near the bottom a reference to "omniture". A quick Google search turned up that Omniture is a web-tracking company based in... Utah.

Could be pure coincidence, though.

Two new locks to open:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

LAKE --> Reverse sound puzzle. Here is the sound when reversed:
http://www.supload.com/sound_confirm.php?get=22364781.wav
Anyone recognize that language?

CITY --> Braille Code puzzle. Translates to "BLUE";

Also using the word FACE it appends to DOLL --> DOLL FACE
using the word BLUE it appends to CITY --> CITY BLUE
