Or for that matter, any or all of the photos located at

http://www.showstudio.com/viewers/15854

Including the avatar picture.

FYI Terrorists have used avatars within internet forums to stegg hidden information to be decrypted by the recipient. It's something we check constantly on insurgent websites.

Well I was just contacted by a "Basil Valentine" on LinkedIn, but don't believe it to be real.

I'm her only contact, the content is way too convenient, and there's a factual inaccuracy in it.

Nice try guys... Anything else you'd like to throw my way?

might want to look into this person after all. considering the Linkedin profile was created before recent developmentss http://www.linkedin.com/pub/basil-valentine/15/347/993

Here's something interesting, may be too far in the future to be of use, however.

The next total eclipse of the Moon will occur on December 21, 2010.

That's ALSO the date of the Winter Solstice for that year.

edit:
checked out flickr and it IS compatible with steganography.

That's apparently what Basil Valentine is into. I wonder how this would translate into NSE's work.

Edit: was being silly.

Men, (and women?)

Dire circumstances.

Read what I wrote previously. I am an intelligence professional. This is what I do for a living. Research what I previously posted.

We are losing sight. We need to gather our thoughts and dig deep and with fervor. Something catastrophic can happen if we do not comply. We need to pull together, gather our resources and emerge victoriously.

Do not let the enemy gain the upper hand. We have come too far to let this insurgency slip away. Read what Mr. Dubrovin says, and follow these leads. pour into my posts over the past twenty pages of thread. I will not steer you wrong.

Mr. Tutanda,

Please have your group follow the directives passed down to me to the letter.

We don't have anymore time to waste. We're way behind and an attack could come within 24 hours!

To reiterate:

1. IF kitsune.png is the first lock, where is the other?

2. Have members conducted a thorough search for another image?

More specifically, have they investigated the history of these supposed ancestors enough to be sure that the terrorists have not hidden a second image somewhere related to these topics?

3. Lastly, have members truly considered the full range of steganographic tools that might have been available to both the senders and receivers of these messages, taking into account their probable hardware systems?

Right now I need you to bring focus to your group. They don't seem to be able to discern between relevant and irrelevant information, almost as if they had no filter. They take every given piece of evidence and pour over it intermittently with no process of elimination.

Search out the history of Gwaschemasch'e. 75% of photographic imagery after week one of the terrorist's campaign has dealt with this subject. Please have you team exercise due diligence there.

Regards,
AD

Shit, looks like the race is on! Alright gentlemen, let's get this thing started. The part that worries me the most is the bit about the "full range of steganographic tools." This clearly means that what we've been doing ISN'T what we need to do to the image(s?). If we can figure out what we need to do it should be easy to check all the images in a relatively short period of time. I know I'm not one to advise, but the fastest way to do this would seem (to me) to be having a group of people work on pooling all the images relating to Gwaschemach'e (and such) in one place (a thread here, perhaps?), while everyone who knows what they're doing tries to figure out what we need to do steganographically.

Also: is it safe to assume we can ignore the Facebook images?

I think a good first step would be to list all of the photos of Gwash that we've found so far. Maybe zip them up and attach it, too.

It was created two days after someone named Basil Valentine made an appearance on this forum.

I can't go in to specifics right now (I'm in a hurry), but I refuse to believe that this person on LinkedIn is "in game". Compared to everything else we seen, it was way too amateurish a gamejack attempt and was quite obvious to me.

I asked for proof, and what they gave me didn't qualify as proof in the least bit. In fact, some of their information was actually incorrect.

Unless I have concrete evidence from known sites, I ain't buying it. Mentioning the name Basil Valentine in passing like that is no different than them mentioning my name in the same manner (which, for the record, they HAVE).

ETA:

Like I said: the person on LinkedIn is a fabrication. The person that appeared here, on these forums... If that person is "in game", we got serious problems.

Well if uploading pictures to facebook changes their data, then all of those photos are useless.

Now is it just PNG files that things can be hidden in? Or is it possible to hide things within jpegs??

http://www.flickr.com/photos/junkojunsui/3824632456/

This is the first link that shows up when searching Gwaschemasch'e on google. It leads you directly to Junko.Junsui's flickr account.
12 of the photos were uploaded on the 15th, and one was uploaded on the 28th.
Perhaps someone could give those a look? The original 12 photos are also part of a set titled "Потеряно Но Не Забыто", I'm not sure what it means or if someone has already found the flickr page and translated it... But the pictures could be worth a look. Especially "Mother of Gwaschemasch'e" and "Protector of Mnajdra".
