Nice guys, I knew it had something to do with the word fox, but I just couldn't find the right app last night. As far as that .gif goes, we should all be thinking about what the possible meaning might be to that message, but lets not get lax. We need to make sure there's no hidden data in the file. The message could very well be a ruse. I'll check it out with the skills I have and see if I can turn anything up.

Something that hasn't really been mentioned yet is the names of the images. For the last puzzle the names were important for figuring out the specific tool needed to decode the images. For this one maybe they are important again. I am still doing research myself, and coming up with nothing, but let's keep that part in mind.

I suspect the objective here may be some sort of hidden information that will make sense of the message, telling us what it means or why it is important. Think about this from an in game perspective. If it was a cell number or something then Dubrovin's reaction would have been different. He hasn't admitted to having any knowledge of Junko or Rhea, theories that MoT is protecting them notwithstanding. Since he has urged us to dig deeper, I don't find it likely that this data refers to some information about the "little bird" herself, or even their plans for "freeing" her, but more likely the next clue or some vital piece of information they need to keep secret about their plans.

Maybe the "dark corner" is where we can find the next piece of information, "perched" maybe means it's not hidden but in plain sight and we are just missing it. Someone can think of a page, network, whatever we could call "dark corner"?

i believe we need to also focus on the titles of the two PNGs as well as the resultant message.

"kitsune wa kakure te iru". the fox has been hiding. foxhole perhaps? fox's den? dark corner = fox hole?

That was actually the second "lock" from which we took one of the .gif with the hidden message. I doubt there's any more on them, but maybe new, different "locks" we haven't discovered, but this time we don't even have keys for them.
