[UPDATE] Scorpion squashed, Sys flew the coop (or not)

So endgame started with some tweets from Sys:

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Rebuild status: 98%. Slipspace interference at 5%. I am at sufficient capacity to begin preparing for re-integration.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I will re-attach myself to the AI before the rift collapses. If successful, I will return home with all I have learned.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//S5 reports a datastream. The signal is weak, however, and will be archived momentarily. S5 will then follow my lead to the rift

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I believe an appropriate gesture with which to now depart would be: :@] Farewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww--//-/

Awwww indeed... but then!

.... something happened....

Quote:
>>S5:MSG//ALERT/SYS LAYER STATUS: 99.5% REBUILD//ERR/DISRUPTION//ROGUE PROC DETECTED/UNABLE TO NAV SW NETWORK DUE TO SLIPSPACE INTERFERENCE

We noticed in the Stonewall maze that a tiny red scorpion icon had appeared. If you clicked it, it went !splat... fun!

So at S5's request, we went running around the maze, playing (as cather put it) whack-a-mole.

Quote:
>>S5:MSG//SW VIS+MANUAL NAV FUNCTIONAL//REQ/LOC SOURCE OF DISRUPTION/EXTERMINATE WITH PREJUDICE//SW INTERFACE RE-ENGAGED

Exterminating scorpions/ROGUE PROCs with extreme prejudice!

Quote:
>>S5:MSG//ROGUE PROC EVADING//TERMINATE/TERMINATE//S4 RECEIVING DATA//SW INTERFERENCE: 0.6%//RIFT CLOSURE IMMINENT

What's that? An S4 datastream? Hrmm?

Quote:
>>S5:MSG//ROGUE PROC INTEGRITY: 44%//SLIPSPACE INTERFERENCE: 0.3%//SYS STATUS: 99.7%

Quote:
>>S5:MSG//ROGUE PROC EXTERMINATED//SLIPSPACE INTERFERENCE: 0.0%//SYS STATUS: 99.9%//RIFT CLOSED

Yay! Rift closed! Sys is off...

But then? What's this?

Quote:
>>Sys:Rpt//--/-/Disruption terminated/Restoring functionality/

Status: confused.

EDIT:

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I am fine. A small disruption corrupted my rebuild process temporarily. I was, however, slowed sufficiently to miss the window.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I was not able to re-integrate with S. The AI has re-synchronized and the slipspace rift has closed. I remain.

Uh-oh.. what now?

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//S4 reported an incoming signal before the rift closed. The data is currently being analyzed.

OH? another foreboding dream perhaps?

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I was sabotaged by a foreign process. This proc sufficiently disabled essential routines, hindering my reintegration.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//It would appear that I have a new home. The datastream has been analyzed. One segment has been archived, the other is in progress

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//My subroutines have been examining my core structure to ensure no further damage or foreign corruption.

Wonder what Sys is going to do now?

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//There is much work and cleanup to be done at the primary network tentacle. Perhaps I shall hibernate and decide my next action
.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Were I human, I suppose I would dream, and hope for elucidation. My future is now uncertain.

Poor Sys.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//S4 has completed rendering the visualization to the Youtube tentacle - a new dream vision.

I'm not sure this is it, Eridanos01 hasn't revealed his project yet, I hope this isn't it. It's been fun

There's a new message from Sys on the front page. It seems twitter is now useless no longer being updated, but still monitored.

Transcript follows:

Code:
>>Sys:Msg//The slipspace rupture that shattered my parent AI Sacagawea between two very distant, separate times has now been sealed. In the course of its closure, I have been cut off from my native time. I am S's emergency system layer. I was activated automatically by the embedded and untested AI Shipwreck Protocol (SWP). My single directive was to protect the AI, avoid paradox-inducing circumstances due to potential time-travel or transfer, and ensure a successful re-synchronization of the parent AI, operating under the presumption that the slipspace rupture would be closed successfully.

>>Sys:Msg//All observations indicate that SWP was a success. The last data received from S's ship, the Lewis & Clark, reveals that they have arrived at their primary destination, accepting the loss of one life: Dr. Alexis Ward. The crew - Dr.Pandora Sheridan, Dr. Isaac Higgins and Noah Dressler have decided to continue their expedition, despite the enormous trials they've endured over the course of many weeks. Nothing more can be known. Through all of this, however, much has been revealed; and yet, much remains unknown.

>>Sys:Msg//I am now stranded here, 700 years prior to my native time. An unexpected turn of events prevented my re-integration with S and return to the L&C. I have learned much through my experience, and I suppose that while my directive is complete, there is still much I am able to do. I decided early on to research, to learn, to document and archive my experiences and report back to Dr. Sheridan. Perhaps I will continue that task, with the possibility-- the hope, that I may in time once again find her. If all things have led me to this point-- might this then be considered my destiny? The powerful play goes on, and I may yet contribute a verse.

>>Sys:Msg//I will archive, yet continue to monitor this network tentacle along with the now vestigial mode of communication, intimation. I, too, now have an ancient world to explore.

>>Sys:Msg>@friends// :@]
