Have you read The Fall of Reach? It can help solve this puzzle. In the WAV files there is an examination. Apparently, a girl named Janissary James has breached the security system of a military base. Well, at the end of the conversation, her father (James) tells her that she can't get in trouble, that they can't get in that kind of problems because they cannot be discovered. If their real identity is revealed, many people could die.

In other conversation, an AI invades the computer of a guy and tells him that the identity of James and her daughter is completely fake.

Well, Melissa, Cortana, and this SMART AIs are all based on human minds. The mind of Dr. Hasley was used to create Melissa and Cortana. I believe this conversations are fragments of converstaions that took place when the human whose mind was used to create the AI was a teenager. In The Fall of Reach, it is explained that Dr. Hasley and her father had problems with Earth inmigration. Everything matches. Possibly Aiden helped them and they are illegal inmigrants.

This is what I believe: The real identities of James and her dougther Jannisary are Dr. Hasley and her father. When Janissary grows up, she becomes a doctor and her mind is used to create advanced AIs. Melissa is one of them and now she is transmitting conversations that took place when the human she is based on was a teenager.

I had that idea too, Cept slightly tweaked, it's a good theory but nothing really backs it up too much. And right now not too much we can really prove, which is the sad part

The covenant are the logical end of pure religion itself, or of religious fanaticism. Say they are like historical Jewish Zealots, Christian Crusaders/Inquisitioners, a totalitarian regime, or Muslim Jhadists, but it is a heafty insult to say they are like christians.

Hey... Reading through that topic, it says that the third sword in Charlemagne, is Joyeuse. So, if Dana's one sword, Cortana's another, and we have yet to find the third, I'm thinking four options - Joyeuse is either the Princess, or an AI in a series Bungie has yet to create, or in Halo 2, OR as stated in the spec. I'm going to try sending an email to the Princess asking if Joyeuse is her name, and seeing what the response to that is. Now, that fails the three swords, three races theory, but it's worth a shot in relation to the Princess.
