Cloverfield 2 Viral Video? Cloverfield 2 Viral Video?

Cloverfield Cloverfield 2 JJ Abrams Sequels
Few things get me as excited as movies that feature giant monsters wrecking cities. Though the film has taken more than its fair share of criticism, Cloverfield delivered on the promise of colossal-sized creature action. Here we are two years removed and a little video has surfaced over on YouTube (where else) giving us a taste of what could be the next installment of the franchise.
But the question beckons ... it this really the first viral video for the Clovey sequel, or is it just a fan made short that's designed to garner attention. Truthfully? We'd settle for either. If it is fan made, which seems to be more than likely given how obvious it is, who cares?!? It's badass.
Check out the video below, which came to our attention courtesy of Devin Feraci over at CHUD, and tell us what you think.

enh, IMO definitely fan-made. The creature is just a clip from the movie superimposed (motion-adjusted) on the sky. The footage is nice, but could really be done by anyone. So I'd say, nice video editing, but definitely not up to official commercial viral video quality, unless they're intending to make it seem like fans are making viral videos but they're actually official

On top of that, honestly, I don't think they'd show Clover again right off the bat, they'd make it a mystery for a while, make you think that it's a new marketing campaign for a different film, then MONTHS down the line they reveal Clover.

This is what I was thinking. What about Jamie's videos? They weren't "commercial viral video quality" in my opinion, by any means.
Hmm. It is more than likely nothing, but wouldn't it be fun if it were something sequel related?

Saw that commercial for 2012, funny how Viral marketing has now started on TV huh?
Imagine a Slusho ad, or Tagruato? that would of been AWESOME.
PS: That video is fucking terrible. I can do way better myself. fuck.

The 2012 viral ad was awesome. I even told mom about it...this entire household is pretty excited waiting for 2012 to come out.
As for the Cloverfield 2 thing, I'd say that, if any apparent CF2 teaser is of the format "city + handheld cam + monster" then it's probably not legit. JJ did say that, though related, any sequel would be different from the first.

OK, I already wrote it in "News and Rumors", but I'd to visit my lost homeland, Cloverfield Boards first.
Anyway, I have also a fake feelings... I mean... they won't use "Cloverfield" word in the viral promotion to "Cloverfield" (if there would be seen Slusho!, I'd be more impressed (use it, dear faker Smile)
Btw, which language is it? it is not Japanese, beside of the clip title "そこに何ですか?", which sounds for me also not really Japanese. I'd say either "それが何ですか?", or "そこに何があるの?" or so...

Its pretty good, but definetly not a new viral. Was excited when saw viral 2 on site. But think Reeves & Abrams are alittle busy right now with:
Reeves is working on "Let me in"
Abrams is working on 2nd season of Fringe, Lost and then onto:
Cinematical is reporting that the first Dark Tower (titled The Gunslinger) movie could roll out as early as 2010, but apparently not until Lost wraps up its final season in the spring

Ok, here's the real reason it's fake. The effects, of adding the monster in, were crap...'A' for effort, but crap. I couldn't do any better (in fact, I couldn't do anything nearly that good), but still...C-R-A-P.
Of course, if the Clover crew are busy with other projects, then this kinda quality is all I'd expect from them, so maybe...

Want to know an easy way to discern fakes (or at least crappy production)?
Play the video and instead of looking for screwups in the details, close your eyes.
Now, if you've got headphones or speakers worth a damn, you'll notice how out of place the multiple audio tracks are. Now go 'watch' the original Cloverfield trailer with your ears. Much more professional work, eh?
