either way, alex must have been able to get out of SM's sight or something, to do what he did with the tapes

maybe that was what made him be left alone, i don't know

but it seems to me like when he gave the tapes to J he was trying to make a clean break, implying, to me at least, he wasn't/wasn't going to be followed by SM any more

One thing I did think of last night before I fell asleep:

What if Slender Man can't physically hurt you if you capture him on image?

Maybe Alex figured this out, and that's why he tapes himself so much. Either that, or he is trying to prove to someone of Slender Man's existence.

I am SO glad I found this thread today!

A friend of mine had posted a link to the introduction video not too long ago, and I immediately became hooked and reeled in on all of this. I watched all the vids back to back and then started researching everything I could on it. I read through pretty much ALL of the SA thread, read the wiki on it, watched the totheark vids and read discussions on that... next thing you know, I'm starting to participate on the discussions and wanting to find more =p

Which led me to here. I've now officially read this whole thread (and wow! more things were pointed out that I hadn't found/read yet.. so thx for that!)

I am new to ARG's, so I will probably lurk more than anything. I can't help but follow along though. It's just so interesting to me =)
If I see/hear/read anything I find of interest that I haven't seen posted yet here, I will definitely post about it.

The main thing I'm still wanting more info on is what exactly the kid(s) are saying in #9. I'm not good with the tech stuff of editing out sounds and whatnot, so I'm really hoping someone was able to discover what's being said by the kid(s) (I did kind of make out something about "don't want to get lost" and "ma-ma-ma-ma(n)"? and then a cry or something)

Can't wait for the next vid (from MH and totheark) =)

I've been lurking on this until last week and I just checked back and saw there is plenty of new speculation to digest from all of you on the new vid and TOT response. This is the question that I think needs to be asked of J.

Can you post the "blank" 4-5 minutes that is left on the Vid #12 tape?

What he's saying about Alex changing tapes is obviously bollocks, you can see Alex in shot at the time. He also seems oddly confident about what happens next, given his insistence that he wasn't there and hasn't seen any of this before, wouldn't you agree?

Perhaps the camera ran out of film? Entry 12 was probably filmed before he started filming himself religiously so he wouldnt be too concerned about it running out

Well if J is telling the truth about there being 4 or 5 minutes left on the tape, then that can't be the case. The point is that Alex is in front of the camera at the time it goes off, so it must have been turned off deliberately by the girl behind the camera. I suppose they could have put a new one in and started filming again, but it won't have been Alex, as he seems to be distracted talking to SM.

Entries 1 and 8 share a common concept - running with the camera to a lamp (probably the same lamp). At both times, the sound is cut during the run to the lamp, and the video cuts to black once Alex reaches the lamp. It is possible that Alex was responsible for the disabled audio and film cuts (Entry 1 cuts immediately from a lamp to the window - taping had stopped until he reached the window).

SM may be disabling the audio/video - whatever sound got Alex's attention in Entry 8 was missed because the audio cut out, so it seems unlikely that Alex cut the audio and video himself. In Entry 12, it seems possible that SM stopped the recording.

I'm thinking that light and being recorded have some effect on SM. I'm not sure of what effect though. Either that, or Alex thinks light will keep him at bay. Maybe the presence of light keeps the camera from cutting while taping. Whenever it cuts out, there are no lamps around...
