I'm thinking that maybe the solve of the puzzle has to do with the international codes of the countries that cities belongs to...

IS (Iceland)
RU (Russian Federation)
GS (South Georgia And South S.S.)
UK (United Kingdom)
FJ (Fiji)

Did we find a good solve for this? I peeked at the answer
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
eight

but I can't work backwards to get the answer.
London's airport is Heathrow, but there is nothing about Labasa, Fiji to get the needed letter.

I find it interesting that Reykjavik is the northernmost capital, Labasa is near the International Date line, South Sandwich Islands is the southernmost point of South America, London is near the Prime Meridian... but what do you do with Moscow?

reverse engineering puzzle #6

Sapagoo, one thing I had thought of was that in the lists above of both the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
international and port codes, you can cancel out duplicate letters and get the answer we have before us. On the international list you can cancel one each U and S and on the port list you can cancel one G and one S.
So far, I cannot think of another way to reconstruct/reverse-engineer that for puzzle #6.

I'd also like to know what #3 was, other than
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the letters being a match for the colored squares.

The only other one not solved straight out was #2 (the numeral 4 and the sound effect).

Join the Mosaic videos pattern

Something I noticed earlier but that probably means nothing is that so far there has been a pattern to the Stories From the Mosaic. Each pair of stories uses the same first letter for each name. I had forgotten to post this the other day but if I had I would have been off by one of my predictions that not only should video clip #6 have been a name starting with an "A" but that it would have been a female. Up until #6 there was also a pattern of male/female but that was broken with Andy's Story. At least the letter pattern (so far) is holding out. This probably means nothing but it should be mentioned as a possible pattern.

The simpler way to look at this would be to say that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
four of the cities are tied to islands so you toss out the fifth (RU). Considering two-digit identity codes, this leave 4x2=8 letters.

Solution to Divine

Not sure if anybody is interested, I figured out how to solve the Divine puzzle (I still don't like brute forcing puzzles, but I needed the solution to reengineer the method Wink)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

It is quite simple. The first number means the position of the letter in the solution and the second number is just needed to count. But it starts with ZERO!

So 57 means take the 8th letter of the first line and use it as 5th letter of the solution.

57 sWcNTtCEGRBau
42 TAlwsMSEpfZdD
29 ofkimWuyFudTA
38 PpJaoXgeLSKUM
66 ordZivThntTwg
14 uoKtBQpqIHzsY

--> Bullet

I tried much more complex methods Evil or Very Mad

I'm in Canada. Trying to view the video either on YouTube or on the truthhack.com site (which I guess just embeds the YouTube video?) gives the error, "This video is not available in your country due to copyright restrictions." Grr, this is irritating...all the other videos are fine!!!

AUZ505, thank you very much for the reveal. I'm new at this so this was a good lesson. Smile

How about the others that were "picked"? Any idea on Utah?

I had the same problem with video #7 some days ago. But suddenly, the restriction dissapeared when they uploaded video #8 which currently i can't watch it due to those copyright restrictions. Just the last video. Weird situation.

Yes, it really is quite annoying. But it is only temporary. IIRC for one video, that restriction disappeared within hours. Alas, being impatient, I simply resort to http://keepvid.com and download the video to watch locally. Razz

New "Story from the mosaic": Evelyn's Story

The encrypted file at truthhack doesn't show the 7th lock yet. I guess we have to wait before trying with new keywords there.

evelyn
It's been a 180 degree turn for me.
I'd given up entirely.
It was never going to happen for me. But...
that's all changed now.
I'm a writer, unpublished.
Like most writers I work part time to get by.
I've written three novels
I've spent years trying to get an agent or a publisher to read them.
But I couldn't make it happen.
Then, last new year's eve, I decided I'd had enough.
I had no more to give to writing, I was spent.
And I pretty much stuck to that.
I didn't write a thing.
That was until my FlashForward
I was in a big book store - at a release party.
and the party was for a book that I had written
And I looked up on the wall and there's a huge photo of me
And under the picture was the title of my book.
It was called "salt for my soul"
And that's where it gets really weird.

Because I haven't written that book yet.
I haven't written anything since I gave up on writing.
After my flash forward, I couldn't get that title out of my head, I...
I kept wondering what it was all about.
I wanted to read that book more than anything.
And that's all that it took.
The very next day I sat down and I started at the keyboard.
and that's what I've been doing ever since.
It's going really well.
At least I think it is.
I'm just... trying not to think too much about it,
to just enjoy writing again.
So my days are filled now with working this job and every break I get, I write my book.
And one day it'll be finished and I'll know what it was all about.
and then, well, who knows?

given that we already have LAKE CITY UTAH.
I'm going out on a limb and guess that the puzzle is under SALT.
