All right, it's taken me an eternity it seems (to me anyway) to get this done, but here are both letters scanned.

Ditto on the THX, paperbound. you're back and A-OK. If we ever get web presence I'd really like to dive in to this one.

I am very much in.
Would it be silly of me to send a letter all the way to Texas from over here in Ireland? ;D
Any chance we could see those photos or the symbol of the order?
Thanks for posting all of the stuff!

sightings in the Yucatan and south pacific which I will later explain.
first photograph taken of a certain 'species' of these beings, I believe it took place during the 1920s in Cyprus Texas
I am not entirely sure; my guess is as good as yours.
what appears to be the dissection of a dead being
Edit: got the pics and comments mixed up

Well the picture he isn't sure about is definitely a transverse section from an MRI scan of the head. I have no Idea what the highlighted section could be. It's hard to get a clean scan to compare it with because of the very nature of an MRI. It looks to be taken from behind, just above the neck, although It could be a frontal views either. Hard to tell.
I know that wasn't helpful, but yeah, just wanted to get that out of the way.

To me, the highlighted part looks like something lodged in the brain, but as I said before I have NO experience with that kind of stuff . It also looks like it could be something "extra" in the brain, like an organ or growth, and they're pointing it out with the red outline.

Kinda looks like the Presence (from Year Zero) reaching up instead of down... Vaguely, so I doubt that's it, but I do see the resemblance to some degree.

I think it says "Sighting at Cyprus TX". Been googling on it from the start but couldn't find anything that odd. A UFO sighting but in the sky, nothing with forests...

Got a new letter today - posted to the journal and I'll try to find some time to scan it.
I tried scanning the earlier pictures, but they didn't turn out any better than my cellphone snapshots (apparently my office scanner is just as lame).
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to straighten out the certificate that came with this letter to get some good pictures of it. It was wrapped up in paper with "The Point of No Return" written in pencil on the package. Other than Erwin's mention of the members of the Order being listed on the front, it's the art on the back that I can't quite get over.

Trust me, I've been waiting too - but considering that my cellphone and laptop don't like to agree with one another and I can't get even a slightly decent pic of any one part of the certificate due to the folding (because seriously, I'm dying to show you guys the back of this thing!), I have to get it straightened out first.
The front side of the certificate says:
Quote:
Quod, bonum, faustum, felixque, sit.
Sub Auspiciis
Civitatis Texadis
In Republica Americana,
(Texas State Seal)
Septentrionali
Foederata,
Collegii Medici Dallas
Nos, Decanus Ceterique Facultatis Professores, Virum Nobilissimum
atque Doctissimum.
Lee M. Polk
Propter, (A?)rtis Medicae Scientiam Penitus Comprobatum
Medicinae Doctorem.
Creamus, Ediemque, Hop ipso Diplomate Omnia Jura, Privilegia,
Honores et Insignia Quae Hic aut Uspiam Gentium Medendi
Peritis dare solent tribuimus Sub Collegii Sigillo.
Dallas, Kal. Apr 1(?) Anno Domini MCMIV
There appear to be fifteen signatures, some of which are relatively clear.
W.M. Lively
S. Burton
Jesse E. Mitchell
John G. Clay
B. Duke Choate
Hugh L. McNew
C.O. Bryan
Henry A Moseley
C.F. Maxwell
H.L. Wright
The back is a bit harder to explain - images cover the entire back of the certificate and there's only one thing written that can be translated by type -
Quote:
HUMAN ILDEN VESSELS
But there is a pretty good-sized sketch of a human skull (minus the lower jaw portion) with what appear to be tentacles coming out under the teeth.
I can't even begin to describe these drawings and properly do them justice.
