HUMAN ILDEN VESSELS

Alright, I don't know WTF this site is for or how it got its info, but I found it after looking for "Ilden" on google: http://home.comcast.net/~earlwajenberg/onlinestorage/Aliens.html

Under the "Summary Listing" it says this:
Quote:
Ilden & Ilden machines: saintly, turtle-shelled octopi and their faithful robots

You said tentacles were in the sketch, right?

Also, there is more about the Ilden further down:

Quote:
The inhabitants of Ildel resemble octopi in turtle shells. The shell is slightly more highly arched than an exact hemisphere and gray, gray-green, or gray-brown in color. The lower edge has flutings to accommodate various tentacles. There are four large walking tentacles about 1.5 meters long, four manipulative tentacles about 1 meter long and tipped with gecko-like adhesion fur, and four eye stalks. The skin is pale gray. The whole animal weighs about twice as much as a human.

Ildel is a low-gravity world circling a K-class star, relatively dry, with large seasonal variations. An Ilda can tolerate Earthly conditions, so long as it does not have to endure the high gravity for too long. Ilden are pair-bonding androgynes living in extended families. They had been at a high iron-age technical level, with steam engines and heliocentrism, for over a million years when contacted.

The Ilden are noted for their linguistic abilities (being semantic zone 0), the Ilden Gardeners (low-key, low-tech, but very widespread and persistent terraformers) and for the Ilden machines. These are AIs based on Ilden neurodynamics and raised in Ilden cultures. They are much more widespread than the organic Ilden and are the fourth largest population of non-Terrans in the Core. Ilden machines seldom resemble organic Ilden; instead, they are usually smooth levitating spheres or spheroids, spangled with individualized patterns of tiny lights. Since psi-tech came in, they almost always perceive by claivoyance and manipulate by telekinesis. Ilden machines, like organic Ilden, are almost always at least somewhat telepathic.

The Ilden's high Darbrin Klo status indicates that they have no need for social institutions dealing with crime or war, living in near-utopian social and spiritual conditions, and use the time and energy thus saved in secretly plotting to do each other good (called "amalo" an Ilden word that has entered general galactic culture). The Ilden machines continue this condition, and it is widely believed that the Core could not sustain itself without the salting of Ilden machines in its culture. Ilden and Ilden machines strike humans as gentle and saintly; humans strike Ilden as ... tragic.

I'd cheer for alien parasites in the head, that would be awesome though nothing particularly new.

I want one as a pet, I'll keep it in a fish tank and feed it hobos.

Okay, so to save myself a tiny bit of time (because we're getting storms at the moment that seem to be making my connection choppy), instead of linking individual pictures, I'm linking to the whole Order album I have on TinyPic-

http://tinypic.com/a/1926u/4

Some pics are duplicates (thanks to the above-mentioned choppy connection), and as always, they're not the greatest quality, but it's really difficult to get the full image on the back in one pic. I tried to make sure I got all of the parts that appear to be words in code.

One thing I did find a little bit funny when I was researching some of the names on the front side of the certificate was that there is a W.M. Lively on faculty at A&M - in Computer Science and Engineering.

I think I had some luck with the writing below the skull. Using substitution I got this cryptogram:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
THE NAMELESS SO?RSE OF LIFE ON EARTH
THE NAMELESS VOID THAT DREAMS AWAKE

Any ideas what SO?RSE could be? I'm not sure if I got it wrong, if it's a word I don't know or if the person writing the code made an error, e.g. SOURCE would fit nicely in this context but then it's spelled wrong.

I'm sorry, but i have to ask this:

Is this pointing towards the skull with the tentacles? Or is it just generalizing off the entire page?

I actually got almost the same thing by just plugging letters in place of symbols..
I couldn't figure out what so?rse was either.. unless pm misspelled source..
but I doubt that's the case.

Judging from the pics paperbound provided I'd say it is left and below the skull, pointing away from it into the left bottom corner. Best you use the link I posted above and see for yourself.

I admit I haven't quite followed all of this, but it does seem that the "?" can certainly be a "U" (letter doesn't appear elsewhere), and then I could write off "SOURSE" as a misspelling (note that "C" doesn't appear anywhere either).
