dreamer, I thought we had talked to essyfan too. I remember like at the very start of the game they requested to follow me or whatever. I didn't think of it, and thought we had seen them before, too. I did look though and essyfan has posted over at the bungie.net forum that someone started and was requesting people to help out, but granted, this was before eridanos was in-game.

Maybe someone should DM eridanos saying we wanna help, but your gonna have to let us know everything you do. By any means of communication, etc. Something of that sort.

My loathing for Eridanos is almost entirely meta, as the 'wondering aloud' stuff cheeses me off faster than you can say, "betcha can't stick it!"

It translates to overt in-game irritation on my part, sure, but the way the character has been written and implemented, I don't really feel any sort of realistic compunction towards wanting to protect him, justify his actions for him, or worry about his family. He feels almost entirely like a device. Except when he's getting sad/frustrated/emo about some of us not liking him. THEN it feels like the PM is expressing themselves directly, which is an altogether *different* icky feeling.

At the end of the day, I don't worry about Eridanos. But when thinking about this game, or how community architecture works, I get testy.
