1) Some specific players (the usual suspects) get frustrated by process of messaging in SL. Being noobs and not realizing instant messaging gets saved like e-mail, they start complaining that they have to "wait online for hours".


2) Same players then set out to deliberately provoke, take the piss out of FICTIONAL "angry sergeant" archetype, Yuri.


"let's tear this guy a new asshole"


"stop dicking around, Yuri"


"pull your head out of your ass"


(all spoken by same players now opining)



3) Yuri character responds by calling you "little whores" (perhaps a little harsh, but very likely how a real Russian NCO would react to your behavior). Reminds me of Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket. Shocked



4) Same players then get all irate about realistic IG character response and start opining again about the PM (directing comments at a person you don't even know is running the game.)



I must say I was in SL sending IMs to the Junsui bots and although I got delayed reactions, I sat offline and waited for my e-mail notifications when they responded, at which point I got online again and continued. I went through two cycles of questions this way but couldn't get the last question right. (BTW what was it?)


Maybe I am a woman and therefore not prone to some of the testosterone going around here. But some of you people behave like real tossers and then cry foul when the IG characters check your behavior. I won't even get into Steve-O's SL avi sitting in the room crowding out the Junsui bots for hours and screaming repeatedly that he wanted to talk to the PMs (might want to check your Ritalin prescription).


These people don't owe you anything as players or consumers, particularly if you behave so badly yourself. You need to grow up and learn the difference between fiction and reality. Right now you are behaving like my beagle who barks when he sees a cat on the telly.

And reading this thread early on I can see that you have never participated in this game as much as start meta discussions AND spread negative messages with accusations to outside forums. You say it is your life's mission to mess with the game and its creators. Wow, I cannot wait to see how the Junsui participate in you upcoming ARG. Good luck with that, BTW. Wink


I don't know about some others, but I have deliberately avoided contributing on these forums because of the nasty behavior by just a few players. If you people are having such a rotten time, then let me ask you this:


WHY NOT JUST QUIT PLAYING?


Is that so hard? Can you not find other ways to waste hours of your life? I know it is asking the impossible at this point, but it would be very refreshing for those of you who are not having a good time to leave and let others participate. I don't think you will respect that, but it is perhaps at least worth my asking.


Do it for your own sanity.


(Or just stay and keep playing this game which you hate so much.)

Maybe you aren't prone to some of the testosterone but after reading this, maybe you should replace your bloody rag and get on with your life. If you really were better than all of us you wouldn't have had the lack of tact to create yet another thread about all this bullsh*t.

 		I'm with you on the "quit the game if you don't like it" part… but maybe they're not angry or frustrated enough to lose interest in it… yet.

As for the "I hate Yuri Tetrisdasdas or whatever blablablablablabla" comments…
To me those statements where kind of expected. I mean if a complete stranger begins to order you around like you were some kind of personal slave, it is very likely that you'll get pissed, especially if you think that you're doing him a favor. Actually, you may get pissed off by simpler things like stepping on shit, losing your bus, spilling your drink, etc. But then again, you're right such comments, might make other participants uncomfortable BUT, they can also follow your advice and leave if they want to. Nobody is forcing them to stay either.

I really think the whole problem was someone's RL information was brought up on FB. But that has been taken care of and I know it won't happen again. Everybody makes mistakes.
Having said that…

I'll keep in mind your advice on posting only relevant information that will help (if I'm lucky) to solve present and upcoming puzzles.
