[PUZZLE] The coordinates

Shit, this happens if people are more discussing than trying to solve mysteries and hints.

Thanks to the people at 2-ch.ru who found that there is a mistake in the coordinates:

ROT 5 is not 29.21 + 117.63. We missed the minus. It is - 29.21 + 117.63 leading to a place in Australia not China.

And what is more, those smart Russians, found that all four coordinates from the THENFRIEND video are on a straight line (in google earth - not in goole maps) and that this line is somehow a special line - I do not (yet) now what is special about it, but something with day night.

I believe it is either the axis upon which the Earth turns, or the dividing line between the half of the Earth facing the sun and the half that is not.

Or something like that.

Yep, looks like its the dividing line between day/night.
However notice the current coordinate for Rhea is off of the line.
Maybe something will happen when the earth shifts enough to bring that sun line over her current coordinates.

Winter Solstice
date matching the line to the solar edge

Hi guys... lurker - first post, but

the date... those who plotted the line must have advanced time in the Google Earth interface to have it match with the solar limit. The date on which this occurs is quoted in the top left corner. December 22, 2009 - also in the file name. This is the winter solstice, but the time on the image and the exact time for the winter solstice don't match.

For 2009 the solstice is Dec 21 1747 UTC ... 2347 UTC+6. The time on the image is 2:51pm... in which time zone? The closest zone this could correspond with is +12hrs, which is New Zealand, Fiji, etc., which is still nearly 12 hrs off.

I played around in Google Earth and in order for that line to be where it is, the 2:51pm must be in the UTC+3 timezone.

Anyway this could be all mute, but I thought I'd bring it up. Winter solstice is a common time for cultural celebrations surrounding women...

It's right near the Yamantaw mountain.

And this address - there is a regular store, nothing special. We've phoned that building and it ended just in a portion of lulz.

Ciphers Coordinates

Is anybody still trying to match the 'sacred cipher' symbols to the co-ordinates that we have? One of them is described as being the origin & centre @ Mnajdra, the other superimposes nicely with the smudge mark. Could the 'antipodes' just mean inverting the image? I've been trying to puzzle it out, but I don't have Google Earth for my pre-Intel G4 Mac, and have lost plenty of sleep trying to follow a game that plays 24-7 on at least three continents...

I'm convinced that each symbol represents a location. I suspect that the symbols do NOT correspond to the locations from the THENFRIEND video, but to other locations of significance.

Clearly the circle that looks like the lock-and-key is for Mt Yamantau. I believe the circle with the prongs sticking out of it is for Mnajdra. I think the others represent locations yet to be revealed (or maybe I'm wrong and they represent Kerringoy Norway, Mt Kosvinsky Russia, Yamdrok Lake Tibet, and Rothsay Australia).

Other locations that have potentially been important:
- Santiago, Chile
- La Serena, Chile
- Ljubljana (Laibach), Slovenia
- Urumqi, Xinjiang Region, China
- Shanghai, China
- Tokyo, Japan

Can you match them? Is that dice image the only image we have of the other ciphers? BTW, I missed where that came from - was it more AT intel?

Here is a link to my Google Map of the original coordinates, with some pics added as a visual guide. I'm a visual-kind-of-guy!

Really. Must. Sleep. Smile

I know some of my co-ordinates seem to have come adrift from when I first entered them. Does anyone know how to fix this? I haven't used GM before... Embarassed

As far as I know, the dice image is the only image containing the other symbols. I haven't matched them yet, but I also haven't really looked into it yet either.

Many people have speculated that this symbol is for Mnajdra. It looks like a sun (a reference to the solar significance of the temple), and the 3 different lines through it represent the sun's ray's on the summer and winter solstice (left and right), and on the autumnal and vernal equinoxes (the middle line), mirroring the layout of the temple.

This is pretty conclusively the symbol for Yamantau - Yuri was asking us to map symbols to locations when we were looking for the vimeo video password that contained the break-in evidence. Yamantau was the answer... and the Junsui kept posting this image. It also appears next to the coordinates for Yamantau in the intro to the cam feed on the fake google page.

Also, someone on facebook posted on the Junsui's facebook almost 3 weeks ago, saying "I found what this symbol means, it's for Yamantau mountain". The Junsui responded by saying he was "very smart" and to keep the information a secret. It was overlooked, and clearly could have been helpful solving the latest puzzle more quickly.

Anyway, what's interesting is that neither of these locations map to the four coordinates from the THENFRIEND video (those, I think, are laboratories or AT/MoT testing facilities).

Yuri has made explicit reference to the Yamdrok location from the coordinate puzzle, saying he was familiar with it. Also, people here have speculated that that location was where Alexander Dubrovin was injured in a plane crash, an apparent act of Junsui sabotage.

The Kosvkinsky mountain location from the coordinate puzzle was also referenced... it appears to be the birthplace of many of the Junsui (including Rhea). They have posted on their facebook that they were "Born in Kosvinsky", and the profile from the intrusion video shows Rhea's place of birth to be KOC3 - Kosvinsky Mountain.

So things we still have to do:
1) map the symbols to locations
2) figure out the significance of the THENFRIEND video coordinates

Wow, your map is pretty usefull!!!
Also, throwing it over GoogleMaps, there's new surprises. Still match straight lines!!! now it draws a triangle...

... that could means...

Ok, it's parts of it, but it's useless unless you can extrapolate from the central spot, which I would hazard a guess at being mjandra.

replot with that as the center?

I've plotted this too, it looks like each of the following groups forms a straight line (locations mentioned twice or more are vertices):

Line
Kjerringøy, Norway +67.57 +14.68
Kosvinsky Mountain, Russia +59.51 +59.06
Lake Yamdrok, Tibet +28.93 +91.07
Rothsay, Australia -29.21 +117.63

Line
Kjerringøy, Norway +67.57 +14.68
Ljubljana, Slovenia +46.06 +14.51
Mnajdra Temple, Malta +35.83 +14.44
Lekoni River, Gabon -1.6 +14.22

Line
La Serena, Chile -29.91 -71.25
Carazinho, Brazil -28.28 -52.77
Ljubljana, Slovenia +46.06 +14.51
Yamantau Mountain, Russia +54.25 +58.10

Line (possible coincidence)
Kosvinsky Mountain, Russia +59.51 +59.06
Yamantau Mountain, Russia +54.25 +58.10
Dubai, UAE (Men of Taste related)
