yeah, ackerson was working against the dr. who created the spartan 2's and his program was called spartan 3. I was thinking maybe jan is a flash clone of janet or james. it would fit along the lines of the spartan program thinking, hence why she's able to take a three story jump without a scratch.

James was wounded in duty and in the books they state that Spartans are never reported K.I.A> because that would show weakness within the program, thus all spartans dead or otherwise are marked as M.I.A. If you read the book, it seems pretty unlikely that James made it out of his last mission alive. I think he was the one that detonated a warhead in a space station being taken over by the covenant. He had been shot and the whole in his armor leaked air, making it impossible to survive in space.

Since no one disproved this as far as 2 pages from when this was posted, I just had to comment on the MC theory. James James is 100% not Mastercheif because Mastercheifs name is John, as mentioned in the halo books. As for his envolvement in the Spartan program, possible. As for Janissary being a Spartan, not likely because if she was she would be in training and not a public high school. Spartans remain in training almost their entire childhood untill they start going on real missions post augmentation.

I don't think that J^2 is the MC, but as Durga said, Jan's father "used to be someone else". Names mean nothing.

Spartan II, no. Spartan III, possible. We don't know the specific of Ackerson's program.
