Herculaneum is related to the volcano Mt. Vesuvius so I can see how it could be "earth."
I suppose water could be the sea of the southern-most lighthouse?

Anyway, I think now our major key with the sources pertains to the symbols at the bottom of the three beacons.
I do not believe they are years. For one, Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 CE, which is only two digits. All of them contain four. Another reason is that there are ten different symbols and while they could be 0,1,2...9 I find it unlikely given that there are only two symbols that are used more than once.
That fall of the Aztec empire was about 1521. If that date corresponded with the four symbols it would have two repeating symbols marking the number 1, but it doesn't. Of course, another important date would be 1790, which was the discovery of the sun stone. However, I rule this date out also because the Aztec Beacon and the Herculaneum Beacon only share one similar symbol, whereas for the numbers they would share two (79). The stone's creation date is marked on the calendar as 1479, so that doesn't change matters either.

So what exactly are we looking for with the Beacons?
Not a clue. However, I don't think it's a time because there are few choices you can have with the starting numbers. If it's 12-hour then you can only start with 0 or 1 (which would not be possible here as we have three different starting symbols). If it's 24-hour then we can start with three; 0,1,2 but with what we have I don't think it is very possible to figure it out. Or if I'm wrong and leading us all astray, figure out the dates.

Well, TEDO got their name from Tesm (Tesmna = of Tesm), but I think outside of that we don't know anything about him.

Ok, I think that I have finally found the time to jump back into this (if I ever was really into this... haha). I've read the story so far on the wiki, and kind of understand what's going on there, but it looks like there may be a couple things that have happened that are not on the wiki. Though I am easily confused by the whole two worlds thing, I'm sure I'll figure it out one way or another.

So, let me get this straight: TEDO from the other world has crossed the rift into our world, and has killed Tylean. However, Tylean predicted his death, and left a message with OP Smith, who is currently in hiding with ThatEve, Abie, and his family. ThatEve is doing her best to close the rifts, while TEDO is attempting to use them to merge the worlds. ThatEve is trying to get in contact with ThisEve for some reason or another. In order to achieve their goals, both TEDO and ThatEve need Pert'nels, and neither of them have enough.

How am I doing so far?

I believe it's like this:
A Lorsham (which is a member of TEDO) was traveling through the time dimensions and messed up. OP Smith bumped into him (and some other bloke?) in ThisDimension, took the Lorsham's Donar'tnel, and so they kidnapped his family in retaliation and took them to ThatDimension.
Tylean and Abie had previously been murdered by ThisTEDO but Abie's brother, Binsakne, changed history so they survived and instead were sent to ThatDimension. ThatTylean had previously been killed by ThatTEDO (and maybe ThatAbie too?) and when they somehow came across ThisTylean and ThisAbie they knew who they were and took them to the hospital under the guise that they were mentally-ill. ThatEve realizes something is wrong with the diagnosis and believes ThisTylean and ThisAbie to be sane, so with our encouraging she agrees to rescue them (and OP Smith's family) from the hospital with the help of ThisEve, who traveled to ThatDimension because she said she would help ThatEve.

However, ThisEve had more spice than sugar, wasn't all that nice, and stole the Per'tnels of Abie and Tylean and ran back through the rift into ThisDimension. Now, ThatTEDO wants her dead and so she is resistant about returning to ThatDimension. ThisEve is currently with OP Smith. However, she has been sneaking around his back and confiscated his laptop for reasons unknown. But now we know she wants to close the rifts, which is also our goal.
In the meantime, ThatTEDO went to ThatEve's hideout and took back ThisAbie and ThisTylean. They eventually murdered ThisTylean, but ThatEve was able to get ThisAbie back. And this is about where we are now.
ThisEve has the Per'tnels and presumably knows of all the rift source locations (I think?). However, she doesn't know what she needs to do with the Per'tnels because OP Smith deleted that during a brief spell of madness. ThatEve has Abie and hopes to cross the rift with her.

So it looks like our goals now are to get ThisAbie back to our dimension, and to help ThisEve close the rifts, right? And since ThisAbie and ThatEve don't have a Per'tnel, they can't cross the rift, and ThisEve is rather hesitant to cross again to bring them back. Am I still on track? Thanks for helping me catch up.

Yes.
I'm not sure if Per'tnels have to be used to cross or not (I'm kinda confused on that myself), but I would assume something has to be done to prevent people from randomly going through it unknowingly. But ThisAbie probably knows what needs to be done to help her and ThatEve.
