Ugh

I'm sorry if this is off topic, but I gotta scream in disappointment... this movie looked so good on the trailers and the virals and adds, but I just watched it and it's mediocre...

It's an ok movie, but because it made me wanting to watch it so much, I hate it. So much potential and ended up being just one more movie drown in clichés. It's sad.

I haven't seen that one, but the tone suggests you meant that as an insult.

I absolutely loved District-9. The trailer may or may not have been misleading, I couldn't say. Following the ARG sites gave me so much backstory so far in advance, the trailer meant something different to me when I saw it. Often a movie needs to find the right audience, and a trailer needs to set up the right expectations to reach the right audience. If you were misled, I would blame the distributer and not the director. Sony even inserted scenes into the trailer which did not appear in the movie, and which contradicted the director's intentions. Better luck next time?

(I've seen the movie twice now, loved it both times, might trying catching it in a theater a third time, and I will definitely be buying the DVD.)

No, not an insult, is just knowing also how good that movie could have been, it was just another blockbuster. Not that is a bad movie, but you hate it just because you knew it could be more. As with D9 for me.

Didn't see it, but I bet you liked Transformers 2, what with it being about 2 hours too long?
