If you guys want, I'll post a transcription of my conversation with MM. I don't want to post the actual audio for two reasons:

1) It was my first time using skype ever so the first three minutes of audio is me trying to figure out if I had picked up the phone, and I'm not sure how to edit that out.

2) My voice sounds really weird when it's recorded.

So, do you guys want it?

Edit: Forget it, I'm just gonna post it, so here it is:

Quote:
Me:*lightly* Hello?
*two minutes of silence and my TV in the backround*
MM: Hello?
*cue a startled me, skype is like a phone on the computer!?*
MM: You have *can't make out words* speak with me.
*silence, me still trying to figure out the mystery that is skype*
Me: Hello?
MM: Hello.
Me: Hi.
MM: It is a pleasure to finally speak with you, *insert my name*
Me: You too.
*awkward silence as I try to figure out what to say*
Me: So...why'd you want to talk with us?
MM: This is something that is coming a neccesity. You need to be, ready.
Me: Ready for what?
MM: Anything and everything.
Me: That's kinda vague.
MM: Unfortunately, due to the nature of these conversations, I cannot disclose specifics.
Me: Alright. *doesn't want to mess with the time space continuum* So, why did you choose Nathan to communicate with us?
MM: Because he can be trusted.
Me: How do you know all of the things about him that you do?
MM: Let me tell you a little thing about time. *deep breath* Everyone thinks that time is this... linear progression of events. But in fact, time is more... a soup of possibilities. Every time you dip your spoon in, you're... picking up... chunks of... everything in a... sea of quantum... recursions * he said something else, but his voice went too low for me to hear the rest here*. Things are happening repeatedly, over and over again. Even right here, right now in this conversation. It has been recorded, probably trillions of times. Each time, having a minute, tiny change. Creating the finished file, that you are... more or less, having the illusion of having a *garbled word* conversation with. Through time you note, just like your noting down right now. And in the future, I read said notes, take this information down, use it to create a file, send that to the past, and the loop continues. Infinite recursions creating something in an instant what actually, in fact, may take billions of years. When you put things like that, it doesn't sound so much like going from point A to point B, more like-
Me:*interrupting without meaning to* No it doesn't.
MM: Everything happening at once, together. *he pauses for me to say something, I realize this too late* But what if-
Me: *Don't know what I tried to say here, but I shut up pretty quick when I realized he was still talking*
MM: What if, during one of those recursions, something changes, something happens that shouldn't happen? Something drastically changes the course of history, the course of events?
Me: Is that why your contacting us? So that... major change doesn't happen?
*long drawn out silence*
MM: You are very, very astute.*cue my smile, I knew watching all those Sci-Fi movies would pay off one day!* Young and *garbled word* *short breath* Yes. That is indeed what is happening. I have entrusted Nathan with the past, as I am overwatching the future. Together with the help of the Watchers. Whenever an event happens, that should not be happening... well... I need to get a taste of, exactly what we're dealing with. I need to be sure that this will be the final recursion. So-
Me: *once again, I foolishly try to speak and then shut up*
MM: You need to look to the past to find evidence of what will be in the future. Investigate the site, you haven't been looking hard enough. You need to find the evidence of the past, document it, present it to me.
Me: Alright, umm... is there any time period specifically we should be looking at?
MM: ...Half a month should be enough for you to... get everything together, *I think he totally missed the point of my question, but at least he gave us a deadline* to investigate the site, to piece together the past. Once it begins... well, we'll only have... a short time to do a series of, very coordinated... moves, if you will. To solve the *garbled word, might be "missing" or "mission"* and restore things to the proper path. As you can tell, I am rather limited in my ability. I only have the ability to very, very carefully send snippets of information into the past. Things like these audio clip files. I don't have the ability to actually enact anything. You are-
Me: *Argh, why can't I keep my mouth shut!?* Well, we'll do our best to help you.
MM: You Watchers are my sword.
*silence*
MM: I'm-
Me: *guess what? I interrupted again* Alright.
MM:Reaching. The end of. What I'm able to send. Um. Here. Are you recording this?
Me: Yes.
MM: I need.. time. The stream. Is very. *intake of breath, exasperated sigh/noise* I'm losing... the signal strength I need to send this. *The beeps I showed you guys popped up, then the call cut off. I actually wouldn't have known that they were what MM was trying to send me if Nathan hadn't given the audio file to me when he called me after I was done talking to MM*

Cool, thanks for posting the transcript. Was his voice masked?
I'm just assuming that he didn't use video...

EDIT:

Has anybody checked out this?
http://chronoflow.wordpress.com/

I'm guess that it's unrelated because of the old post, but it seems unusual enough to be connected. Does anybody recognize the language in the second post?

EDIT 2: A bunch of online translators have been less than helpful. Is it possible to change the date on your posts with wordpress?

Yeah, his voice was masked and there was no video.

I don't think that wordpress is related at all, I managed to figure out that it was Swedish. Here's the translation, though google couldn't translate everything and made the grammar weird:

Quote:
Bit by bit disappeared under the inverted sockerkaksformen where it stood and cooled on a plate, but that for the sake had been able to prove that someone had been there between theft opportunities. Carefully took the form of raised, picked up the knife and a piece cut off before all put back exactly as it was.

The worst offenders were not kids - they did not even up to the bench where the cake was and had not known of its existence until it is given up on the dining table. No, it was the adults who secretly ate the cake.

It happened to an adult caught another in the very act that was exchanged crooked smile that can only be exchanged between people who share a criminal secret, before they enjoyed together opposite piece. Instead, it happened that a child witnessed the crime INVEGA in the little plot, but in the belief that it was only his adult and child saying who knew the secret.

Eventually mother in from the garden to pick it färdigsvalnade cake in the pantry. Då var det bara disk kvar.

- Someone has eaten the cake!

The latter one was to blame for many food and kitchen crimes. Everyone knew who it was, nevertheless, it was useless to try to find the culprit. Then it was easier to bake a new cake.

It sounds like a Swedish aesop story or something, but who knows?

Edit: I don't know if this is related, but there is a Swedish game called Chronoflow. Here's the description:

Quote:
You play the agent of the organisation that never existed, which has a clear view of how the history of the universe must play out. To make sure that the timeline flows as they want to, they send you to specific space-time locations, STLs, where you are left alone with the task to make sure events play out as they want to. You must first observe the current state of the STL, in order to be able to make a clean cut in the timeline to alter the flow of events. Even though your missions are placed in a deterministic univerese, the chaotic behaviour of 'the Butterfly Effect', is your prime enemy. You must make sure your actions don't have uncontrolled consequences and contaminate the timeline more than what is absolutely necessary. You are the weapon that can rewrite history...

I just posted this on the chronoflow scratchpad -

Quote:
just in case it's of use;

http://www.archive.org (which may tie-in to a.q.c.h.i.v.e (sp) from the convo with MM) is the "wayback machine" internet archive project. when searched for www.chronoflow.com it shows history of a site that disallowed the use of search engines etc, but gave a link to the current site which was http://www.daveomatic.com, now http://www.daveharpe.com/ maybe it's unrelated...

Tex...

the dave site looks OOG, but there is some 'life changing' type photos under his photojournalism bit (which you'd prolly expect with photojournalism I guess). Just thought I'd post it up while I was passing through...

@ Catgirl. Yeah, I saw that game too, I didn't think it was related at the time, but this game might be a promotion for it.

@Tex, you think it would be a good idea to send Dave Harpe a message?

So I did, and the equally helpful mr Dave said..
Quote:
Hey Tex,

I did have chronoflow.com for awhile, and I think all I had was a
redirect set up to my photography site. Not sure about the robots.txt
restriction. Pretty much what would have been there (via the
redirect) was my photography work (non pornographic), not unlike what
you see now at daveharpe.com / daveomatic.com.

Hope that helps!

Dave

I love how he put in the over-rider about his photography not being pornographic... aww, bless...

JFI, robots.txt is just the script on a website that asks spiders/crawlers/robots/search engines and the like not to archive/list their sites... but just one thing, I never mentioned that I couldn't find info about his site because of the robots.txt Exclamation he offered that himself. But I guess he could of done a search on archive.org and discovered it out for himself or read the post on chronoflow.com...

not sure where that leaves things...

ETA: sent him a further email to ask why he chose chronoflow as the name for his site.

Chronoflow was a title I came up with for the water drop work. The
photos of water are high speed images of falling streams of water with
background images reflected in the streams. Chronoflow seemed to be a
good name for it....

Is this a deadend do you think?

I'd say so, at least we can cross that one off the list.

I posted some of this on the chronoflow forum, but Nathan mentioned something about the website and 2004, so I did a little diggin and found some forum posts on a japanese forum from 2004, which led me to this website:

www.cf.jpn.org

It's pretty old, but I emailed the guy a few days ago asking if he'd ever owned he www.chronoflow.com domain.

I was also a little curious about Nathan's profile pic, it was probably created by the pm since it's title is OUTIS.jpg (although not necessarily)
I'm no steganographer, so I don't know how to look for any hidden stuff in it, just though I'd mention it here since it's been bugging me.

Oh yeah. Thanks snorkle, you inspired me to look deeper into the name and I just remembered that Omega is the last letter in the Greek alphabet and is usually used to signify the end of something. I guess in this case it's the recursions.
