Has anyone else living on the west coast gotten their masks yet? I know I got the Record and the Drawings a few days after everyone else, so I'm not worried, but still.

Inman is getting pushy... he's still looking suspicious, but if he's honest, that means someone else is looking into their investigations as well. Of course, he could just be trying to scare Mark, but he should know by now that trying to discourage Mark Meltzer is the ultimate fool's errand. Cool

By the way, a couple pages back, someone pointed at Martin Gardner's mini-chess puzzles (a 5x5 chessboard, it could mean the 5x5 board we get after solving the Phronima puzzle, and Through the Looking Glass is all about chess). I've been trying to analyze that. I'm a huge fan of Gardner but I suck at chess, so I was hoping someone better at it than me could follow up on that. Has anyone been working on it?

New phone message from Stango. Sound like he sent the threatening letters.

New book on the floor, with Lutwidge's mad writings on it. New clues.

Been following from the beginning, but never had anything to contribute. The new update shows a typed 2 page letter on the wall and a handwritten note with it. I will have to look deeper at both, but for now, the mystery writer sounds an awful lot like Andrew Ryan. I know it's not him (or is it...?), but he speaks with the same rhetoric Ryan does in almost all of his speeches and propoganda. Not being a slave to God or government, The CHAIN, don't get drowned by the help (AKA do it yourself). He talks like someone who has been to Rapture, heard Ryan speak. Has he just uncovered so much, and maybe gone a little crazy, after 20 years of looking that he has picked all of this up from his research, or is there more to it.

BTW, have tried every combination of knight moves on the 5x5 chess board. Took a while but I was thorough. Either thats not it, or it is and we have to wait for an update for it to work.

Lutwidges latest insane scribblings say that he got RKQ's Last name from a writer named Herbert Quain, and it's got the name of one of his books April March, I've looked up the author on the internet and he's real, he has a book called April March written when the cover says (1936) but the same year, he apparently wrote a play called The Secret Mirror. The two pieces sound pretty wierd; April March is a book written with "nine different beginnings, trifurcating backwards in time" I think that means it goes backwards, starting at the end and then playing out each different beginning. The second one The Secret Mirror is apparently "a play in which the first act is the work of one of the characters in the second act". I don't know if that's helpful or familiar to anyone, it sounds important to me.

Sorry to double post but Lutwidges's scribblings are just fascinating. He now measures time in the years after the birth of Rapture (Anno Raptus) I think, 15 A.R. is in our time 1960 which would mean that the calendar starts in 1945, so either that's when Rapture was thought up, completed or first inhabitted, I'm not sure. He talks with a dependancy on ADAM. And in the big paragraph on the first page he seems to be talking about where he got the splicer masks from; "sorrowful souvenirs of the something slaughter" and refers to them as "broken faces". And then there's the second page, it says Killian, but with bits scribbled out so that it looks like it originally said something about killing someone, I thought it could be Inman because you could scrub out the n and m and it would look like it does on the paper, but their are words scribbled out between the words KILL and I_AN so that scribble has probably got the real name in it, but it could still say Roscoe Inman, but as far as we know Inman never new Lutwidge or Quain, at least not personally. And their's a word scribbled out under the Rod is Red thing that you can just about make out but I don't know what it says, it could be relevant I suppose. I'm not sure if that was helpful or even relevant, I think I've just been writing too many English essays. Well done if you read it all anyway.

Some people over on the 2K forums are using the Kill I An as the basis for a theory that Inman is Lutwidge's pawn. They base it off of OOL saying he had a military contact and also saying the pawn had helped throw off Celeste and had travelled the board but never entered Rapture.

Seems like a pretty decent suggestion to me...

Clarifications

Ok so some more pages of Lutwidges diary and manuscript as been uncovered. I thought it would be handy to decipher Lutwidge's lingo.

1. R. Killian Quain is the alias Lutwidge used when he returned from Rapture and wrote Utropolis
1. Atlas is well... Atlas/Fontaine (duh)
2. Orion is Andrew Ryan
3. Apollo refers to the Apollo Air transatlantic flight that crashed in the frozen triangle. The one Jack (protagonist of Bioshock 1) was on. So Apollo may be Jack.
4. Wonderland is Rapture
5. The Pawn is as of yet an unidentified disciple of Lutwidge. Who has been threatening Mark recently. (Possibly Inman)
6. The Seeker is Mark Meltzer.

Hopefully uncovering the identity of the Pawn will us answer the Knight's Question.

I have to think the Pawn might be someone who we already have met.

My guess is Stango, who always seems to know more than he lets on, despite his expressed belief that Mark is the killer of his own daughter.

Lutwidge would have had to have some detective resources to find all of these means for Fontaine to build Rapture, and someone credible enough for Celeste to go to the Himalayas instead of looking underwater.

I don't think it's Stango because not only does he not know about Rapture or OOL, he doesn't care as he has hinted multiple times that he thinks the whole thing is a cover story created by Mark.

I'm inclined to lean towards Inman simply because of the building desperation Inman has to find/get to Rapture despite the fact he supposedly has no idea what's going on.

Who knows though, could be someone else entirely... Confused
