Update on Something is Coming

We apologize for the lack of updates for the production, but we have been busy organizing and finalizing the Live Event which begins on October 31, 2009 which has taken us across the country over the last two weeks.

Make sure to check out the Contingency Foundation website for details on how to get involved. Although we have received a moderate amount of applications, we are still seeking appliants for the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones. We are still accepting applications however for any zone until October 8, 2009.

Over the next couple of days all in-game websites will be updated including new transmissions from within the Barrier at Harper's Ford.

The Live Event will be incredibily interactive and full details will be revealed as the launch gets closer including the announcement of a very special prize which will go to two lucky individuals.

 		i'm still lurking, watching in the shadows.

SOTM> we are all having problems with the @yourlightinthedark email address. i know i submitted a picture being nice to a plant before the deadline, and it bounced around for weeks. Randy still says "now about those plants..."

CF's site says they need mountain and pacific time zone reps. You have until the 8th of next month.

just noticed before i posted this : crossroads bar and grille???
last time i thought it was nothing, is this in game?????

At first look I thought it was out of game too...until I saw it being referenced on the Contingency Foundation website under the heading NEWS:

 		So, 2 things worth noting

I am thinking the code in the description of the transmission means Halloween:

"Day 196. The Foundation has released me into my own private residence. They feel as though I am not a threat to their S.E.C.U.R.I.T.Y program. The t1me is c0ming wh3n everyday citizens of our once cherished nat1on will have to work together while separated t0 achieve somethin9 humanity has never been able to accomplish. Time is not on our side and not what it appears to be. This is not a test. This is not a game. Stand or Fall."

Last year Halloween date was huge in the game. Also another reference to the game last year is S.E.C.U.R.I.T.Y. I can't find my notes and forgot right now what it meant. It is probably on an old forum. There was even a T-shirt made up with it on.


EDITED: Found it - last year there was a movie released on halloween.

I know this sounds like a crazy long shot, but I put in SECURIT (without the Y) into my cryptogram solver - and one of the first words that comes up as a solve is "ABDUCTS". This does have a parallell to MW who abducted victims in whatisthisgame and the son in SIC (Dante) just got abducted.

EDITED: I just noticed on the blog they use S.E.C.U.R.I.T.Y. so I guess it doesn't mean anything. (with the last period).

Hi all,
I'm new to the story and applied to be a time zone rep. This morning I received this:



Congratulations! You have been selected by our impartial third party, not involved in any way with the Contingency Foundation or any of its affiliates, to represent your time zone. While this communication is meant to welcome you as the official representative of ZN8, it is to also inform you of your duties.

The move to phase II has set in motion a series of events that have only ever happened two times before. A test of humanity we have been chosen to administer. There is both good and bad news. The bad news is that neither prior test produced a passing result. Humanity failed itself and faced a cruel extinction. Twice.

The good news is that fate has cast your fortune and determined the odds of success this time based on random anomalies have hit a staggering 99.999999999999999998% chance of passing this time around.

How do we pass?

Well, this is where it gets a bit complicated. There is a logical and complete answer, but it is difficult to describe and not to mention, telling you would defeat its purpose and make it impossible to achieve now wouldn't it?

What we can tell you now is this. By accepting the position, you agree to represent your zone honorably and with highest regard for all life contained within. You will be instrumental in your zone's success or failure and willingly accept this responsibility. You also must agree to be willing to travel at least the 50 miles from your home town as you agreed to when you signed up.

On October 15, 2009, the rest of the world will be given the same basic information contained in this letter with exception of the information listed below this paragraph.

The biggest most important advantage to being the Representative of ZN7, is that you now have access to information that will be delivered to you now and again by the Foundation that is intended only for your eyes. It is vital to remember that what information you choose to divulge to the rest of your zone or anyone for that matter, is up to you and you alone. Rest assured that the other representatives will be receiving similar information.

On October 31, 2009 all representatives will be made official by a special video directed to you specifically. At 8:00 PM Z*0 Time, you will receive a link to your unique video giving you instructions on what your first primary and secondary objectives are and how, where, and when to communicate special instructions to the citizens within your zone. A separate video will simultaneously go out to the world via the main website which will dictate to everyone, yourself included, the final rules of the test. Essentially this will be...The Starting Gun.

We've already given you enough clues. 22 days remain. Prepare wisely.
