In my world of appropriate restitution, you would get them back after a period equal to the time amassed between the first time you used private messages to spam others about your forum, to the time you lost the ability to post private messages. So, if you had been spamming people for, let's say, four months, then I think it'd be fair to revoke that ability for four months.

But I am only one voice in the giant machine that is Unfiction, and as such, I guess you will have to wait until the mods/admins get around to deciding when (or, if) to give you back the privilege you wasted away through repeated inappropriate behaviour (despite encouragement and advice from the very people you were spamming).

It's sometimes used for between and I've seen it used in other, more context specific, ways on other forums. So, I'm going with yes.
