Erm...the file that I posted was the one that ended in 15-2, but that was the file name I put on it. Embarassed

That said, I'll bet the license number is significant, and the "15" refers to platform 15 -- so that "Hillary Bear"s license number begins with the platform s/he works on. It would be a logical license numbering scheme.

Mari also seems to have more than one daughter.

 		Argh, I'm getting too excited to get back to work, so...

[wild speculation Very Happy ] Based on the drawing, I think that Elton is a worker/crewmember aboard Sunshine Mine Platform 15, a mine on the sun. There are other mines and/or other crews, and they each took a rocket to the sun (hence the drawing). Then something happens on Platform 15 -- some kind of disaster -- and some of the crewmembers are left alive and in need of help (presumably from us? hooray!). Somehow Iris gets their messages and... well, it's a little fuzzy there, to be honest. But 041985 (in the top right of the drawing) could be a date? April 19, 2085? [/wild speculation]

i was thinking of hydrogen mining on the sun as well, or something to similar effect.

041985 is December 12th, 2014 as an excel date stamp. however this is removing the 0. i don't think the PMs intended that and an April 19, 2085 is more comforting.

 		also, we've seen 2085 before on the NV (or arrow) picture, so I'm betting on that.

 		/start speculation

global warming. disaster. some sort of solar mining expedition. artificial intelligence. singular point in the future.

i'm guessing that something happens in 2085, akin to the Sunshine Mine Fire on 72 which killed 91 people, and Iris is sending a message back through time in order to prevent it.

/end speculation

this whole thing is reminding me of the epic sci-fi movie "Sunshine".

the processedrelay15 with the date stamps indicates to me that this picture was sent from earth to the mining expedition on the noted date. it obviously came from a miner's family.

no, but i'm on an iphone so it may take some time.

also, there was an @yahoo address in the correspondence if i recall correctly. given bricker's past use of Yahoo Messanger (re: my 2 hours IM conversations with Jacky), has anyone thought to add the email to YIM?

Funny you would suggest that only because the wiki for Sunshine mentions being influenced by the 1972 movie Solaris and the wiki for the "Man from Nantucket" limerick mentions the 2002 version.

the "Man from Nantucket" reference was so trivial i have no idea how it could mean anything. the character was attempting to impress by quoting Dylan Thomas..."do not go gentle" is my favourite poem, btw... and he was asked his favourite poem and said "Man from Nantucket".

that being said, Solaris is an eerily creepy movie that fits with the mythology being created in this game. loneliness, space, psychological / physical duress from the proximity of a stellar body.

i have to evaluate the quote given earlier. i don't fully remember but it mentions time.

this wording is so strange to me, but so obviously serving a purpose.

is it referring to the timelessness of the limerick, ie. "time" is everlasting, as with the poem. i don't even know where to begin to speculate.

i also tried looking into the "Sunshine Mine Disaster", which is a book of poetry. can't find anything.
