[TRAILHEAD?] Hatshoe hatshoe.org
What is it? I emailed the address at the bottome of the main page but all I got was a reply singing the words of 'Freebird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd (as that's part of my email address). It's a bit mad and not sure if it's a joke, part of an ARG or something altogether wierder, but thought I'd post it here as well as in the 'Is is a trailhead' forum.
edit: just linkified the url -thebruce

Whois says that the site registration was private. It was created on Sep 20 2009.
Description in source says Let us gather round and recount our tales
That's all I got. The site is kind of strange

Yeah, each word on the site leads to a page with writing on the subject, and it's often weird. I don't know what it means. Tried contacting the email address again and waiting for a reply. Can't find much else though, it's awfully strange.

Found hidden in the source code:
Sleepwalk:
I hate to hide code within code, but I have. Every document is a piece of the whole.
Chest Hair:
Code:
<TemplateBeginEditable><TemplateEndEditable>
This isn't in any other page source.
Hair:
Image has an alt of "Don't go bald." Unusual as others don't have an alt tag.
Door unlock:
I guess I can reveal that the first few batches are just a smokescreen. The more astute of you can consider this a free hint.
Nothing else out of the ordinary in the source that I can see.

So what does that give us? Are we being asked to unlock a door? Good work n_i_c_k, still new to all of this so I wouldn't have found that even though I looked.
I think we're supposed to figure out who the character writing is, but it seems so erratic in places and a little schizo so it doesn't do us any favours.

I'm not great at figuring this things out either. Aside from perhaps grabbing each of the pages/images and running them through an image program to check for anything unusual. Destegging aswell perhaps?

*drops in*
Okay, I can't sleep. Going to go piss around with these images in Photoshop. Of course, we could be barking up the entirely wrong tree, here. It could be that the text is some sort of weird-ass cypher. Kind of doubt that, though.
I'll let you know if I find anything.
[=EDIT=] In 'breathing', if you turn the brightness down to about -10 and the contrast up to about +90, there's what appears to be a nose, above the fold. Also, I may be totally out of my mind. You tell me.
In 'station ', with B -18/C +92, the word 'COMING' appears in the bottom right corner. This was awesome until I matched it up with the same section of page from 'door unlock', from which it had obviously scratched through. *sigh*
In 'notes', the PM refs having written too hard, and says that the words from the previous page are visible on that one. No matter what I do to that image, they're not there. I can't find anything like what appeared in 'station'.
That's about it... Things I've learned? Paper is crinkly. Brightness/Contrast is not the answer to this one. Aside from that probably coincidental nose-shadow in 'breathing', nothing of note shows up like this.

How did you ever find this in the first place? I can't find a single reference to this site anywhere but your post.

Really don't know what to make of this one. Some of the entries are comical (like "matrix") while others are... well... odd (like "staying awake" and "bone").

Well to be honest I didn't, I was lurking the imbeingfollowed board and someone from the 4chan /x/ board asked if it was related. Nobody else seemed to take notice but I went to the website and it was weird and intriguing! Thought I'd post it.
In regards to the stuff Mehetabel found, I have a feeling that this was all written on a real notepad and scanned so it would explain a lot. It seems to add more credibility to it for me because someone actully took the effort to write this all out and scan it in.
I recieved an email back for my question and the reply was:
Quote:
It might be as bad as they say it is
Don't know what that means but hey, it's contact!
Also recieved this after asking if there were clues we need to solve:
Quote:
There is indeed something to solve, friend.
There are indeed clues.
Things will become more apparent very soon.
So keep checking back at hatshoe often I guess, and i'll let you know of any further contact.

Was bored as well and was looking through this... on the 'station' page at the end it says:
Quote:
I am responsible for the deaths of three postal workers in the winter of 1973 in Minnesota.
I have been searching the interweb for any reference to this but have come up empty thus far...

Same, the only real world reference I can find is the game x-com. He metions movies in a couple posts, maybe if someone knew the film he was talking about in 'Weird movie' it might lead us somewhere but I have a feeling we will have to wait until whatever is going to be revealed is put up.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It sounds to me like Batman Begins.
He stops the crazy doctor from Arkheim from delivering the crazy medicine. He gets in a final battle with his mentor. He dresses up like a bat at night.
edit: I had a left a word out.

Yeah! You got it in one. It didn't even click til you said it but re-reading after you said that it makes perfect sense! Not sure that it means much though, and probably won't until we have more.

Jumping in... May just end up lurking, but whatever, this is cool.
I sent an email to the address at the bottom:
Quote:
Hey there -
Just wanted to say I like your site. Is that from your notebook or journal or something?
And received this response:

Many thankings, friend!
I suppose one could say it is a "collection".
How did you hear about my site?
Not sure what to say in response, hahah. I'll think of something.
