Is anyone else starting to believe TTA when he/she/it says J cannot be trusted?

Theres something a little shifty about the way he's going about this investigation and #16 seems to corroborate that. Why visit in the dead of the night? Why call out for Alex first in a house where he had been tipped off that Brian could be found? I'm sure he's as curious to unravel this as we are but you'd think that, given the subject matter and the dissappearance of the last person to get this deep, he'd be looking at taking some backup.

I think J knows more than he's letting on and that we should be plugging TTA for more information. The only problem is, TTA can only be contacted through youtube and is vague at best in his responses. What if the TTA will eventually provide us with an alternative means of contacting him in which he will reply with a little more candour?

One thing we can gain from this entry is that J's illness is definitely IG. I was unsure previously and thought that it may be a stalling tactic whilst entries were being edited. Now he's included it, I'm a little more convinced...

Anyone asked J if he can upload some clearer images of the drawings he took with him?

Dear Me:
Do not read eighty-five pages of creepy-ass ARG, in the middle of the night, with the lights out, when you can't reach the light switch from your chair.
Thanks,
Me.

I'm just as curious as Deltasound as to why J would call out for Alex, if he's expecting to find Brian. I mean, unless he suspects that Brian's kidnapped Alex, or something, there's really no earthly reason to show up in the middle of the night looking for someone who isn't the one who's supposed to be there. It's just ... off.

[=EDIT=] And then there's the fact that he sounds rather calm, like he's really expecting one or both of them to just turn on a light and be all 'Hey, you're late.'

Also, writing on the page... "Forget what see"? I can't quite make it out.

I'm going to guess that paper says, "Forget what you see".

J did seem rather calm through it all. I thought, at the end when he says, "I may go back eventually," "You might think about doing it during the daytime."

Okay, so I got the audio of the video and I've been fooling about with the audio of that weird noise that appears just after J finds the water bottle (3:54).

I'm not terribly familiar with Audacity or audio editing, so right now I'm just uploading the clip for anyone to listen to or fool around with. That said, in messing with the speed, I could swear at roughly -35.00 it sounds vaguely like a voice.

At other speeds, it's either reminiscent of stuff heard under water, or the rumbling of a sub-woofer.

Will report if I find anything further.

[UPDATE] I can now hear the "voice" at normal speed, since becoming aware of it. It sounds like a sharply inhaled breath, and though somewhat odd sounding, could easily be a wheezy J. It is not, as far as I can discern however, made up of words or speaking.

That said, the rumbling(ish) noise bears further investigation.

[UPDATE 2] With some noise removal, I swear the background noise sounds like some weird electronic stuff you'd hear in an alien spaceship in an old sci-fi movie.

Also at some points I swear I can hear a voice again. Something with the same speech style as the "Ah-Lex" voice heard in deluge (that is the hitch in pronunciation). Sadly, I'm not good enough to come up with something conclusive. The best I can get is a vague metallic "voice-noise" that sounds like a malfunctioning T-1000. Best of luck to anyone else working on this.

(Note, this "voice" is different from the one I mentioned earlier.)

I'm not gonna lie, I don't think I've ever felt as much dread as I did when I saw that visual tear.

And, yea. J is acting kind of... shifty, in my opinion. My first thought when I saw him trying to gain entry was "J is acting like a god damned creeper."

OK, if you're going to break into a place, do some urban exploration and you're in a kind of populated area, do under the darkness, sure.

But, you don't walk up to a place without a plan. And a plan does not constitute knocking for a minute, and then breaking in. Christ. Especially if you haven't seen those people for 3 years, and were obviously not BFFs in the first place.

I don't know. I'm rooting for J here, but something is starting to seem odd. Maybe Slender Man is affecting him in a different way, and he's slowly going nuts as well?

A shiver and a second to that. Even with the lights on, just reading about it all is giving this grown man the creeps, not to mention watching the videos.

Time to watch something cheery and uplifting... like a war documentary.

#16

Is this correct? "Alex and Brian live close to each other". I think I recall reading this somewhere, but not completely sure. Lets say its true, Alex and Brian did live close to one another. Close enough to be in the same house, maybe? The house kept giving me the vibe that it resembled the house Alex was shooting in:

The window on the door. (SM peeked through in earlier entry)
The window close to the door. (Alex peaked out in #1)
The carpeted stairs. (Alex would tape running up couple times)
The upstairs hallway.
The blood drops (that could be from the SM vs Alex in bedroom video).

Did anybody else have the same idea?

Plus J has been getting sick for quite some time now, he has never fully said he is 100% better. And it also looks like he's not getting better. He collapsed to the floor from coughing. J's health is draining as deeper and deeper he investigates.

Visual Tearing in #16 when he picks up water.

The theme for tothearks videos appears to be water.

Entry #5, 1:05 seconds in, Alex points at the stream, J points the camera and weird ass distortion kicks in.

Episode #12, 0:22 seconds in, listen to what Alex is talking about before and just after the distortion kicks in.

The building in Entry #13 seems very water damaged, and I'm sure someone has mentioned that the marker on the floor with numbers on it was a depth marker for a pool. Was that an old outdoor pool?

I am so very sure that in the original SA thread where this started it was stated he could be found in dense woodland or near streams or rivers, but I can't be bothered just yet to go through that whole thread for it.

I don't think it's a weakness, more like what is mentioned in Ringu 2 about water holding in malign spirits.

I know we all know about the link to water with totheark, but there seems to be a lot more in the J/Alex videos that seems relevant.

TL;DR - Water. Stop being lazy.

I was just thinking the same thing about the water. I didn't make the Ring 2-connection, though; Never saw it Razz

The blood is dried, but hasn't gone crusted-black yet. That could just be lazy FX department, or it could mean Alex didn't go as far as we thought. I don't think this is Brian's house, per se; Tim says that Brian lived next door to him. This DOES appear to be the house Alex shot out of. I think, at some point, Brian and Alex met and converged on this house for some reason, and... From the looks of it, spent their last days here.

I think Alex may have shot Brian, actually. Bullet casing. Blood all over him. The only thing that doesn't fit with that would be the blood on him right after he wakes up.

Maybe he tried to commit suicide, pulled the gun away at the last second, and passed out with a graze on his forehead

EDIT: Holy Shit, I just realized, ToTheArk is going to have one hell of a reply to this.

When I first heard it I thought it was some kind of ball bearing slide window being opened/closed but since J didn't got freaked out, I'm in doubt.

Worry not, I think you're hearing the noise-removal artifacts, the more you remove, the louder this artifacts get, like... water and glasses.

Alex is tearing paper in Entry 3. Not sure if he was just shredding the paper. There is a visual tear in that scene, and it looks like he sets something from the paper next to him on the couch.

Points of Interested I found:

(1:22 - 1:25) - When J gets to the back door you heard 2 hard knocks (unlocking sound) and a (sliding sound). With a white thing of the bottom of the sliding door quickly moves away to the sliding sound.

(1:33 - 1:34) - A quick flash of flesh tone from insides the sliding door. (Could be a lighting trick; J reflection grabbing the handle?)

(1:47) - When J opens the door you hear a faint cough.
(2:16) - Faint cough

(3:12) - Tin foil looking hand holding onto a PVC pipe?!

(6:12-6:15) - You hear the transformer sound (lol)

(6:54) - A loud bang grabs J's attention

Can anyone check these also?

Looks like we might be losing the "R" in ARG.

From the outside this looks like quite a large house and from the inside it looks to be in pretty good structural shape. How can it be sitting there apparently undisturbed (other than the inside mess) and abandoned?

Who owns this place? it sure looks too big to be owned by some missing film student(s). Unless this is some known Crack House J likes to go to, he needs to get back there with the cops.

I'd say the G is danger, we've got buckets of clues but no way to stack them.

As for the house I'm going on the thought that it's not either of their houses so much as it's a place being squatted in. Perhaps an empty foreclosure or some such, still pretty on the outside for buyers but empty on the inside. The way J phrased his Twitter post makes me think finding Brian wasn't as easy as asking Tim for his address or looking him up in the phone book. Implying that perhaps hes on the run too or at least not an easy person to find.

Doesn't look like a place for squatting as much as a hastily abandoned torture site. I know film students probably have it rough, and I've lived in some seedy places with my friends in the past, but it never got that bad. All the water references made me think of water boarding, but you know that was just in the news for so long haha. Piles of plastic painters cloths piled by garbage, plastic covered mattress taking up entire closet space... J says he might go back there, I wouldn't be surprised. He might end up back there one way or another.

So, what we are getting here is also that the visual tears, unless this one was created by J, were not a result of Alex messing with his tape. Some external source is having an influence on the equipment.

As for the shell casing... if someone was shot in that house, there'd be alot more blood than just a couple of drops on the bathroom floor and in the sink. especially with all that carpet.
