Mysterious trailer for an upcoming JJ Abrams movie airs in theaters immediately before Transformers movie begins, to be in theaters 1-18-08

-site consists of black background and one digital photograph of what appears to be half facial shots of two women gazing up at something and appearing to be in distress. Time/date stamp reads: 01/18/2008 12:36A
Full page is flash; photo can be moved around the screen, the purpose of which is unknown
-WHOIS reveals contact information: Admin contact: Henry Kelvin located in NY; Albert Pike located in Virginia

"Guest" shares speculation the trailer is a teaser for a movie being referred to as Cloverfield and filmed Blair Witch style.
-Initial attempts at analyzing the digital photo on 1-18 produce little to no return other than raising speculation about possibility the image is one face split in two, and possibility strange anomaly between faces is some creature.
{Both speculations have been collectively dismissed and no longer a focus of the purpose of the photo; some residual speculation remains as whether either is valid}

samson120 notes that the admin and tech in the WHOIS for 1-18-08 site share the same phone number, despite being in two different states
-adds a link for information regarding Albert Pike, revealing the obvious false information contained in the WHOIS -notes that the NY address for Henry Kelvin is false and that E9th is about 3 miles from the Statue Of Liberty {aka SOL}

Cyph3r notes that the phone number provided for Kelvin and Pike resolves to the Santa Monica airport's automated aviation/weather service

Blue K notes that both Henry and Kelvin are characters from JJ Abrams hit series Lost
-also notes it is rumored to be a super-secret film being directed by J.J. Abrams. It's being made in NYC with mostly unknown actors and the entire film will be shown from the point of view of hand held video cameras...much like Blair Witch.

brooklahn confirms Henry Kelvin's address to be a fake as there is no such address in NY; buildings are numbered 1-100 on 9th st

TehSpectre reports numerous rumors that Paramount is removing EHWR videos we well as the Cloverfield bootleg trailer making its rounds on YouTube, further fueling the assumption EHWR is somehow related to the Cloverfield mystery movie.

JULY 6, 2007

Tinag222 provides link referencing Ethan Haas to be a character on a CBS program called The Class, played by actor Jason Ritter and questions how that ties EHWR to Cloverfield. The debate rages on.

KLind reports that 1-18-08.com website has been updated: added is a second digital photograph, Time/Date stamped 01/18/2008 12:01A, noting the 35 minute time difference between photos, effectively quelling
suggestions the timestamp on the first photo was a veiled biblical reference to Revelations; photo depicts a still shot of 5 characters shown in the trailer, one of whom appears to be feeding Rob (main dude) a drink {NOTE for you under the age of 21 - the drink in question is almost certainly an alcoholic drink as there was much alcohol made available at the party - it was not a frozen slushie, knock it off}

Apogee provides links to both of the photos and reports that there is no 3rd photo available. The search for hidden puzzles, codes, stegs, et al begins

wasp2020 notes that by right-clicking black space on the 1-18-08 site, the flash menu appears and by clicking "play" (or copy) another pair of the same photos appears below; like being able to move the photos around the page, the purpose for the copies is unknown

Tinag222 predicts the clue lies in the timestamp suggesting a timeline of events, and that more photos will appear on the 1-18 site {had to be done ;-p}
-also reports that when the page is refreshed, the same photos appear in a different arrangement, always with the 2nd photo of the party shot on top of the 1st photo of the 2 females

madeillegal reports a curious find with the photos on the 1-18 site: that after moving the photos around, one or both of them begin to tick/rotate; the purpose of this is unknown
-debate begins on whether these anomalies are deliberately installed in the coding, or if they are simply flash glitches
-unpurposed notes that the photos tick/rotate counter-clockwise as well

Tinag222 suggest the connection between the events of the trailer, and the photos on the 1-18 site that were not shown in the trailer, the time/date stamps appears to be a timeline of events

JULY 7, 2007

nightowl3090 posts informtation obtained by someone he knows who lives in LA, in which friend spotted a sign regarding a filmshoot dubbed "slusho" and crossreferenced with an IMDB report that another name for JJ Abrams secret movie is "Slusho"

Tinag222 reports having sent emails to both Henry Kelvin and "Albert Pike" named in the WHOIS for the 1-18 site, requesting general information about the website {NOTE: as of July 13, no reply from either, however I was not expecting one from Pike regardless and am relieved I did not get one.}

No leads, no breakthroughs....however the original thread experiences a 40+ page surge in 24 hours.

JULY 9, 2007

"Guest" appears and posts a link to what appears to be a high resolution "official" style release of the mystery trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/11808 and then disappears, provoking an eruption of renewed "frame by frame, still shot by still shot" analysis of the trailer. Whoever you were, Guest, we heartily thank you for that contribution.

Grist produces the first solid lead in the goose-chase by pointing out that the guy in the trailer who asked if they thought they could see something from the roof, is wearing a tshirt with a Slusho! logo; Grist checks out a
website for www.slusho.com which resolves again to www.slusho.jp

JHarmon notes that the movies is being filmed using the name Slusho and that Slusho is a (fictional) drink that was featured in another JJ Abrams series called 'Alias' ...also points out the site is in English and Japanese, which is very similar to the strong Asian elements shown throughout the trailer
-sends email to Slusho and receives an autoreply that says: "Slusho! loves your mails!! You Can't Drink Just Six!!!"

SnowDrop04 provides WHOIS information showing Satoshi Kagashima as the registrant, tech, and admin contact for the website
-website for the fictional drink featured in an Abrams show last year was shown to have been created May 4, 2007, all but confirming the in-game connection between the Slusho! and 1-18-08.com websites.

Analysis of the Slusho! website for in game clues or leads begins with a fury. The original thread grows another 50 pages overnight. Gamejack websites spring up for Cloverfield as they had for EHWR in attempt to get in on the action and are almost instantly exposed as frauds.

"Guest" appears and provides a link to Aint It Cool News http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33261 in which it was reported that JJ Abrams had sent an email to AICN's owner Harry Knowles, confirming that there is more than just 1-18 online, more fun stuff is to be had, that (at the time the email was written) all that had been found was 1-18, and officially confirming once and for all that Ethan Haas and related sites have nothing to do with this project.

Tinag222, in an attempt to confirm the validity of both the site and alleged email from Abrams did send an email to Harry Knowles of AICN and later received a reply stating Knowles has interviewed Abrams for 9 years and the email is legitimate.
{NOTE: while it can always be debated as to the legitimacy of the ACIN website or owner, this is up to your own discretion; the website in other respects appears credible and disputing it further would mean either Knowles lied or Abrams lied, neither of which would make any sense and would stand to tarnish the reputations and credibility of either. The general consensus on this matter is that it is accepted as a credible source and confirmed EHWR has never been related as most people figured out already anyway. While you are free to disregard this and continue suggesting otherwise, your choir at this stage is pretty small.}

Various reports posted on UF and other blogs of curious pulsating/flickering/shaking (tremors!) of the two photos on the 1-18 site happening in an apparently random fashion, the purpose of which is unknown.
-also reported a behind the scenes adjustment to 1-18 that removed the ability to make copies or bring up menu; purpose of which is unknown

No updates, leads, breakthroughs on either site; thread grows another 50 pages overnight with mostly aimless speculation as frustration for a lead grows.

First reports come in that subtle additions have been made to the Slusho! website - the addition of a group of birds in V formation moving across the downloads page

1-18-08 website is updated with the addition of a 3rd photograph set atop the first two with the Date/Time stamp reading 01/18/2008 12:48A and depicts in the foreground 2 girls with their hands covering their mouths, and 2 vague male figures in the background who appear to be running; all appear to be in thick smoke, haze, fog - or it could be lighteffects

4th photo is added to the 1-18-08.com site. Showing 3 individuals in the foreground and a faint 4th individual in the background. Woman on the right appears to be running toward camera perspective, but to the right. What looks like a second female on the left, wearing dark clothing and a hat of some sort, facing camera perspective. In the center is an armed soldier standing sideling to the camera perspective, and turned to look away from the camera. Background is part of a blue vehicle.

The date/time stamp reads: 01/18/2008 1:24A. Quality is slightly burred

The Slusho! website is updated. Previous 3 links now have content. Slusho! store is open and selling tshirts and ball caps. Slusho! history fixed apparent typo: "form" to "from." Happy Talk provides quotes submitted to Slusho! from happy fans of Slusho! Flavors page added with flavorbots and levers to create your own Slusho! flavors which are then added to the Slusho! cup following the lotus, spinning zoom happens and a combination flavorbot is created. New animals are introduced. Songs change on each page.

The 1-18-08 website is updated with a 5th photo showing close up face shots of a female on the left, and two males, the one on the right being Rob. It is discovered that by dragging the mouse on the photos they will flip over. Two of the 5 photos have comments "hand printed" on the backs, while the 3 of the aftermath show nothing.

On the back of the 2nd photo, Rob being fed a drink, the comment is:

"Don't forget who takes care of you! Love J"

On the back of the 5th photo, the comment is:

Top right corner: Lascano, Platt and Robbie - Jan 2008

The i dot in Jamie is a heart. The ink is blue and there is a slight smudge in the letters "and wi" in 'and wide'. The time/date stamp reads: 1/08/2008 12:04A. The photos can still be manipulated, but with the update, only the top photo can be flipped, and any given photo must be above any other one to be moved at all.

There has been no update of meta information added to the 1-18 site.

I looked at the whois data for slosho.jp
The email in particular, sk7087SPLATgmail.com

I searched for SK7087 in google, I found that this relates to a grid reference for a farm, called "Wildgoose farm"

Anyone else think that this indicates that the slusho website is a "wild Goose" chase??? designed to throw us off??

"Jamie Lascano's" actress hasn't been identified yet.

Blake Lively is *rumored* to be attached to the movie, and was reported by the NY Post as shooting scenes at Coney Island with Michael Stahl-David (Rob). Some people speculate that she is the blonde woman featured prominently in the trailer who says "Quiet...here he comes" and "Rob's awesome"....but others say that is NOT Blake. So who knows.

Other characters and actors/actresses have yet to be identified.

Thought I'd edit tinag222's original trailer transcript to include the names of the characters we now know -- might make it easier to understand what's going on.

(Note: I'm 99% convinced that the guy who's shooting the trailer is Hud, based on his unabashed hero-worship of Rob as shown in his Myspace page -- that, and the fact that he appears in one of the 1-18-08.com photos with Rob and Jamie and is shown holding a Panasonic HD camcorder. Post your own theory about the cameraman if you think otherwise, but I think the evidence clearly points Hud's way.)

another ROAR, this time accompanied by a large object hurtling towards the crowd, which strikes a large sign on a skyscraper reading "401 BROADWAY" and somehow causes a pretty big explosion.

The object slams down to the street and slowly rolls to a halt...it is revealed to be (what APPEARS to be) the Statue of Liberty's severed head.

Agree with crespowu. Wikipedia is a top information project.
