Peeps in the Go Forth discussion board, determined it said something like "A traitor comes first". They believe it was telling us to use the Arnold Cipher with the Walt Whitman's 1882 edition of "Leaves of Grass". This method was used to solve the first cipher received in Charleston.
Thanks! I didn't see this info anywhere in the wiki.

Naming of Audio Files Just wanted to remark, that starting with clue #4's cylinder, the downloaded files have a number next to them. The first 3 didn't. Don't know if its a sequential file thing, a date stamp, or possible something of importance.

Clue 7 is up Transcription:
Maybe they figured my confinement with a spectre qualified as punishment enough, and I was soon released from the Jackson county jail. I headed west, drifting more or less without direction until I ended up in a hole in the wall town oddly dubbed "Never Sweat".
In a general store there I came up a bit short for some sundries I aimed to purchase. The kindly owners were about to give it on credit when a jocular man with whom they were familiar payed my entire bill. Referring to himself only as Robert, he said that if I'd help him load his wagon and haul his provisions back to his ranch, he'd happily put me up for as long as I needed.
During the many fine days that followed, Robert and I occupied a great deal of time playing horseshoes, often with his friend Elzy. Some days the three of us made perfunctory attempts to work his ranch, which was about as unproductive as any I'd seen in my life. However, the financials of the ranch seemed of little, if any, concern to Robert. And we were always soon back to horseshoes.
Hint:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Never Sweat, ranch
Solution:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The town of Dubois, Wyoming (answer: Dubois, WY) was known as Never Sweat. Robert was actually Butch Cassidy (Robert LeRoy Parker), and Elzy Lay was a member of his Hole in the Wall Gang, named after the formation where they hid out. The general store is Welty's General Store, where the gang often hung out.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
October 28th between 2pm and 6 pm MDT. Retrieve: Call 307.275.1099 for the location. Go There and find the Man in the Hat near Parker's Foal.

Grayson Ozias question about Levi's fortune hunt Do someone physically have to retrieve the item from the "man in the hat" in clue 7? Is the retrieval component of each clue a physical, offline task?

Yes, someone has to pick up the clue from the Man in the Hat. I believe anyone who wants to can go to the location and try to get the clue.
I think clue 6 was the only one where one person was chosen before hand to retrieve the clue.

The drop was retrieved and a picture of two horseshoes was posted to the GO Forth website. It looks to me and a couple others that there's writing hidden on the horse shoes, but as Donny Hoyle said, I sucjk at photoshop. I'm posting the pic here in hopes someone with uber magical PS skills will have a go.

I kinda follow in and out, so if it's already known... then sorry.
But on FB it says:
Grayson has a new address: 726 E 2nd Ave.
Durango, CO
(which would be the Rochester Hotel)

I was wondering the same thing. Clue 8 was up and solved and now I'm working on #9...#9...#9....
Already got it but have no idea what's going on with the pickup. Is there another forum I should be following?

I believe Enaxor and possibly some other locals are planning to pick up the drop.
Regarding the lack of activity here in this forum... there's a fair amount of conversation happening directly on the contest site, and a smallish group tends to drift in and out of the #goforth chat on chat-solutions.org. That's all I know about.

I'm not a big fan of the forums on the official game site.. I don't like the reverse nature of the chatting and the fact you have have to keep hitting more to see it all. Think its makes it very difficult for anyone to follow what's happened so far.

I'm really excited that the charity I submitted, Save the Dunes, made it into the final 10. Locally, I've been pushing hard for people to vote, but for every 50 I get, it seems that the number one charity on the list gets twice that. So if anyone hasn't voted yet and wants to keep the Great Lakes clean, feel free to vote for Save the Dunes!
