[VIRAL] Under the Dome
Stephen King book

Quote:

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.

Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician's assistant at the hospital, a selectwoman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry.

But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn't just short. It's running out.

I don't know if any of the other characters have social accounts/webpages or not. I just found this because of a tweet.

There is a fair amount of info on the Chester's Mill site, including a link to the police department sight that has a recruitment tab. The online application is pretty long though.

Also a contact page on Big Jim's website.

There's also a photo that hasn't been "used" on the site: http://www.chestersmill.com/images/10.jpg He has also mentioned the secret code word from fringe= tower
And keeps making reference to leaves/leave. But I still have ALOT of blog reading to do. I'm starting on the Oct. posts now..
He also mentions past ARG'S.

Maybe nothing, but after through the blog posts... I noticed that sometimes he would spell common words differently. So I wrote down the incorrect letters he used/ and the letters he should have used.
I got the following:

letters that he used- A-A- W-?-I-Z
should have used - O-O-C-D-R-S

The "should have used" letter could be re-arranged to spell "coords" ?

The ? was where he should have used a letter, but didn't.

Probably nothing, but thought I'd post it. Does anyone else see anything "hidden" in the blog that Joe hasn't made obvious?

-------------edit

Also on his blog, Joe mentions Discordia- looks like that may also be interesting.

There is a UK sign-up page here: http://www.stephenking.co.uk/Home
There is also a map showing locations found so far. I haven't been through the whole site, but looks like alot of stuff there too. There is also a FB and twiter account, and a forum.

Looking at the terms, looks like this one is just for the UK??

I think the UK and US promos are separate...
The Chesters Mill campaign doesn't seem to make any connection with locating physical parts of the novel, and the UK campaign doesn't seem to connect with Chesters Mill online stuff. (though, I haven't looked deeper than the surface yet)
