its called obsfuction, its when your not realy invisible but you just kind of, dont draw attention, it might be a kind of metapsychic ability that just keeps anyone from noticing him, or remembering they saw him for that matter. God this series has gotten so good I have to say. Fun /

Inattentional blindness?

Mimicry.

Reminds me of the ability in some of the Stephen King books, going Dim. You don't actually change shape, or form, you just don't stand out. You're a piece of the scenery.

Oh, TNC, you're a lifesaver. That's what I was thinking of.

Something is definitely up with Tim's shadow. And the audio/visual distortion is markedly different than usual this time. It looks like Tim's face gets taken out more than everything else.

It is very unusual but I would suspect it's just compression noise. Is Twixbucket still around? He usually knows about these sorts of things.

I'm impressed at how many different words there are for the same thing - personally I'd call it Adamsian-SEP: Somebody Else's Problem

It is in the Masquerade, yes.

Working off of the Dim thing-

OK, so, SM has the ability to become Dim (I'm using that from now on, because it works). So, in 17, he's Dim. This makes him unnoticeable. It reduces his "signature"- that is, his usual effect is diminished. He's hard to see, and he doesn't do much to electronics (hence why the audio doesn't cut out). And then everything is OK, and Tim drinks some water - with SM being right there. SM just loses his shit at the water, causing him to seriously amp up his signature- ruining the tape, wiping memory. A kind of shockwave with SM at the epicenter. It's not perfect theory because there's quite a delay in Tim drinking the water and the tape freezing, but hey.

This could also explain possible inconsistencies earlier in the entries- like how in 11, SM is right there and the audio doesn't cut out but Brian never sees him.

I wonder if there's any correlation between SM's featureless and/or distorted face and the way Tim appears as the distortion occurs (see attached).

That's an interesting thought, but I don't think we're supposed to look for things like that in J's videos. That kind of stuff seems like it would be for TTA's videos- TTA is giving us messages, J is showing us what he sees.

I didn't mean as if it had been implanted there like a clue. I mean what if we aren't seeing SM's true visage. What if SM is camouflaged and/or appears strangely b/c we're viewing him through distortion.

Is it just me or do they seem to be on the second floor? The tree outside gives that impression, unless it's just a short tree and/or perspective.

I was thinking that, too. If it is the 2nd storey, that means SM is ~15' tall in this video.

I'd say that there is something important regarding the distortion of Tim's shadow. Note that it isn't there the whole time -- it stops being distorted around 50 seconds in. Also, only the head of his shadow is distorted -- the rest of it is totally normal.

And then the blurring of Tim's head to look like Slenderman. HMMM...

If I didn't know any better, I'd say they were alluding to Tim being, or having something to do with, Slenderman.

I think that the Alex's question about J's jacket, and his anwer ("it's cold in here") it's something interesting...

Only J is feeling cold?

I bet that one of the future entries will be J filming himself and SM appearing...

to me, the memory loss when slenderman is near is almost a fact, since Alex was filming himself all the time and now this

This seems to support the idea that Slenderman isn't visible to the naked eye.

If slenderman's presence distorts digital recording devices, couldn't it do the same for memory? Like it distorts the waves around him (brainwaves, sound waves, lightwaves, etc.)
