Mysterious town of Argleton

I did a quick search and couldn't see anything on the forums about this. Does anyone know any more about the mysterious town of ARGleton? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/6474746/Mystery-of-Argleton-the-Google-town-that-only-exists-online.html

There is an Aughton just south of it, so it could just be a typo or mistake.

But knowing Google, I wouldn't put it past them to be another crop circle thing; after all, Argleton is smack in the middle of farm fields. Smile

Sure sign of a squatter.

I can't tell from that news article how long the anomaly has existed in the mapping data, but it has been there at least long enough for someone to have travelled out to the field and then have someone else write the article and get it published. The domain name would have been set up in advance if it were part of some grander adventure.

Argleton Info

Has anyone received a return e-mail from the argletonSPLATgmail address? I just sent in my request for information. We'll see what I get.

Hi people, are there some news, like email updates or so?

There is btw. another very nice and informative website about Argleton:
http://argleton-village.co.uk/

I've summarized all the founds btw in my blog (sorry for self-advert).

And: why do I have to think about West Unfictionopia looking at the Order of the Ferret? Smile
