OK down a bit of work today on this, the paintings I have found have titles which are weather or natural phenomena related, ie storm, snow sun hurricane earthquake. I'll put them in a spoiler below.

The runes/hieroglyphs also look weather or natural phenomena related.

Still working on the two paintings that I havent found, and that damn thing that reminds me of a walnut

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

2 leopold rivers - stormy weather
3 charles ginner - claverton street snow in pimlico
4 lucien Pissaro - ivy cottage, coldharbour, sun and snow
5 joseph william mallard turner - a hurricane in the dessert (the simoom) for Rogers's poems
6 enry Tresham - Messia after the Earthquake: View of a port, the aspe of the church to left a ship in harbour

They all seem to be part of the Tate Collection. There is a banner on the site featuring Turner and the Masters until 1/31/10 and there is a second banner for the Turner award.

OK, so it looks like no 7 is the only one no-one's identified so far. I'll have another try soon.

ok ive just seen the update on Darcy's blog. I wasnt sure tate was the right place to go specially as she seems to be questioning it so I emailed her.

here is my email her reply is below it
Darcy

Ive seen your note on your blog. Im not sure that the Tate is the right place to go yet.

All the pictures are part of the tate collection and are all weather/natural phenomena related. The hieroglyphs also have the same theme.
I think that the it'jpg might be a sundial but as yet im not sure. If it is what we could be trying to find with the numbers on the buses is co-ordinates for sundials.
Give me a little more time and I might well have a destination for you. Im working on it.

Hi ,

I'll hold off packing my bags just yet then! Wink

I can wait til the morning until I decide anyway... I know a lot of you helping me out are still on the American side of the Atlantic, so the timezones are a bit offset.

The weather ideas are interesting... but if they're not related to where I should be going, then what do they relate to?

Darcy

What do you guys think?

I do not know where to start with this new clue.

We have 7 paintings, the "wheel" has 8 parts and the numbers come in 6 rows with 12 (or two times 6) numbers in each row. So those things seem somehow unrelated.

ive had this rfrom Darcy. Looks like the paintings and the codes are unrelated

Hi Chris.

I don't know why, but I get the feeling that the two things aren't
related, the bus puzzle and the memory stick files. I think the buses
are to do with where we need to go next, and the memory stick with
what we're looking for.

Does that help at all? I wish I could be more help really, but i'm not
great with puzzles.

Darcy

From Darcy's email regarding the buses:
Quote:

wish I'd thought to write the bus numbers too, but it didn't occur to me to do it until afterwards... I'm kicking myself, I know. If it helps, I was sitting outside the museum on the Broad Street side, just looking at the buses going right to left... the ones going the other way didn't have anything interesting on them, at least, not on the side facing me.

So I think the bus numbers might be important. I think she saw the buses that serve the bus station M (see map here: http://www.cartoplus.co.uk/stoke_bus/images/hanleycc.gif) - if you account that inUK they drive on the "wrong side".

Regarding this link the following lines are the ones that serve this station (there might be more just driving past):

10
21/21A
31
33/33A
58A
64
101
350
X64

No idea waht to do now. These are more than 6 different bus lines. Also it might be important that one is named X64 so the X's might be related to this (or not).

I'm not sure the bus numbers are terribly important unless the numbers she gave us decode to something related to specific bus routes. I mean, it would be literally impossible to figure out which buses had which numbers on and which buses passed her. Just seems like if that info were needed right now it would have been given.

I do think they are important, why else should she give us those detailed information: at which street/station she was, the direction of the buses and that she missed to write down those numbers.

EDIT: And we have now 8 numbers that would fit into those wheel. But still now clue what to do...
