Some notes on the picture:
EXIF data is mostly stripped, as it was on the previous pictures from Logan, but this picture is tagged "Photo Booth". Maybe it was made with this? Probably not very relevant.

Well, now we know he has a Mac.

Oh god, I think realized what the thing behind him is.

Protip: It's not a ladder, it's a book.

With that as a hint, does anyone else realize what it is specifically to confirm I'm not crazy?

Like another book with tallymarks on the spine? Or just one of those old-fashioned books with that particular style of binding?

...The Necronomicon?

Yeah, I'm drawing a blank here.

Sorry, man, I'm squinting like hell over here, and all I get are that the foremost leg of the ladder appears to bulge a few times, with a line in the middle of the lumps, like it's made of bamboo, or something. Of course, my first thought wasn't bamboo, it was 'how exactly does one get the phalanges to stay in that arrangement'. *whistles innocently*

But a book? Nah, not at that angle... unless what I've been taking for a ladder leg is the spine and the 'steps' are actually a corrugated cover. But that doesn't make any sense...

I got nothing.

Hey, um, guys? I opened it up in Photoshop to do a little bit of lighting adjustments and I didn't even get that far. Anyone else notice there's a person behind him? Not sure if relevant or brought up before, so I apologize if my post is pointless.

Actually, I think that's a lightbulb in a hanging fixture. It looks like the image was shot in a garage, especially if the thing that looks like a ladder is a ladder... or possibly outdoors, with a wall-mounted fixture... *squints*

Yeah... I was worried it might have been something like that after I looked at it again. Still, it does look like somebody walking or doing something. Oh well, even if it was, I don't suppose it would help any. =/

But I'm curious now, what about the ladder thing? I just see a ladder. I don't know where you're implying that he is or why you're crazy.

I just had a moment of fridge logic where I became convinced that that is the spine to House of Leaves. If you don't have a copy, this is the best pic I could find of the spine:

This isn't the first reference to House of Leaves, so either he put it in there is a gag, or... viral marketing for House of Leaves 2? Razz

Haha(hahahahahaha etc.), I had that same thought a while ago. It would be so cool, and yet such a bad idea at the same time.

Someone posted an interesting reply to the Laughter entry on the 6th:
Quote:
Matthew Selby is not the only one who has encountered this "Slender Man."

I'll call myself Arturo for this post. I'd rather not say my full name.
I'm a medical officer for the U.S. Army. If this Joshua or Logan would contact me, presuming that Logan contacts anyone, from what I have read here. He seems to be a recluse of sorts.

Nevertheless, if Joshua would please contact me. I leave my email for you only. I'd rather not have a flood of emails. I'm assuming you know how that feels.

Please reach me as soon as you possibly can.

-Arturo

Also,I think if there is another person standing in that photo they're standing here.

to be honest, i think it's too dark to see anything apart from the light, ladder thing and door[?] thing behind him

even with it artificially brightened an that

This may be slightly off topic but I recalled seeing one of the journal pages in Jafool having Yggdrasil written on it. Yggdrasil had its three roots in different bodies of water and drew its power from them. The water also had powers of knowledge but in order to get it you had to sacrifice something. Odin had to give up an eye for example. Maybe if the slender man is connected to that myth then he could very well get power from water and maybe that's why he has no features.

I just remembered this post... I bolded the thing that caught my eye (no crappy pun intended).

That's a guitar; the "ladder" you see is the fret board. Smile

I don't think we should waste our time figuring out what is behind him in that picture, instead we should try and figure out what's up with the laugther? Why would the filename be "hahahhahahhaha" and why can he hear the laugther he described in the blog post?

And what singing is he talking about?

And let's not forget why he is pretending to be Joshua?

Maybe he was found and/or got committed/committed himself to an insane asylum. That would explain laughter and singing; crazy people pull that shit all the time.

All joking aside, I remember him saying that HANDS ARE THE KEY, and me going "Wtf? What hands? Key to what?". Well, next he posts a picture of himself with his hand over his face in a slightly peculiar manner. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

EDIT: Although, I do believe he is more likely referring to clock hands. Just something to consider.
