Yeah, as I say, I'm sticking my money on the Unnamed Camera Dude. We don't have any other clues more concrete than the time clue and the fact that he keeps going on about the Operator. Everything else is pretty much wild mass guessing, which, while fun, and lets people imagine their own direction to the story, just doesn't have too much backing.

Anyway, isn't it odd that the Camera Dude only appears in Entry 9, and that was the one to which TTA responded, "Regards"? I'd say it looks like we're onto something.

As for the symbol, I have no idea why it's called the Operator symbol, but, to guess, it's because it looks like an O. Also, as for why Camera Dude might have left well enough alone after the first wave of weirdness is because things stopped happening. When J became entrenched in this again, he reawakened the weirdness, and alerted TTA to his involvement inadvertently.

It does make me wonder what TTA was doing all along for the past, what, two years? Yet this is the best clue we've found in this video so far.

OOG: Haha, I had another dream, this time where Entry 18 was posted, and we as the players divided into teams for whether we were on J's side, or on TTA's side. I chose TTA's side, and started actually searching, in real life, for SM. I actually did see him at the end of the dream just before I woke up. It was awesome, though I was kind of miffed at waking up just as I saw him.

I went back and watched #12 (to refresh, the "hey buddy" video where SM is standing on set) and the associated TTA reply, on the assumption that TTA = camera operator is an accurate theory. I may be re-posting something that we already know or missing something vital, but just glancing over the two of them (feel free to pick this apart), I noticed a few things.

If we try to account for everyone present at the time, we get:

Alex (blue shirt) - voice and plenty of visuals
??? (navy blue shirt) - Brian? Someone help me here; he doesn't have Tim's awesomesexy sideburns, okay. It looks like Brian to me.
Girl - Sarah character, probably? We only hear her voice.
???? (bright green shirt) - walks through the frame at the beginning, also is potentially person asking Alex questions about the shot, although that could maybe be Brian.
Slender man (business suit, wut) - visuals.

Alex tells someone to handle the camera, and up until now I think we all sort of assumed it was the girl, especially since the camera swings towards SM as she asks "what's he doing?" (although I, like some people, believe that we can't assume she's asking about SM, and not Alex--we don't know).

So plenty of people have decided Green Shirt = Cameraguy from #9, I'm not doing anything new or exciting here. And then:

TTA's reply tells us "there was more."

Was this Green Shirt telling us that he actually remembers this day, and that more happened after the camera abruptly cuts off?

Additionally, what caused the distortion? Was it SM, or was it the cameraman's contact when he gets ready for shooting?

I went and listened to and Green Shirt and Cameraguy both say "OK" in the videos. I compared it and yeah, it's only two syllables, but the voice is close.

I made this to compare the two guys, just for clarity, although, again, Green Shirt = Cameraguy is pretty well accepted at this point I think:

You can see that the bangs are pretty distinctive, and what you can see of the nose is a close match. I wish we had a better view of the ear--Cameraguy has a distinctive ear, and if Green Shirt had just shown us a biiiit more I'd feel more comfortable with this.

So I know, at least among the people I've chatted with, we idly tossed around if Green Shirt = Cameraguy back a couple of months ago, but we weren't sure, and also weren't sure if it mattered. I feel pretty sure it matters, especially if we can establish that Green Shirt = Cameraguy = TTA, because it makes the "There Was More" comment make more sense.

Actually J has bangs like that too, and similar sideburns. But I feel like the face isn't shaped like J's.

But wouldn't that be interesting.

I thought Greenshirt was the operator as well for a bit, but as I kept looking at the videos and comparing certain scenes in 12 and the scene in 9 I'm pretty sure Greenshirt is Brian.

They each have a unique side profile and and the Cameraman's just doesn't fit.

Also I'd point out that Brian walks across the screen again at 0:51 in Entry 12. Comparing those different snippets together based on his hairline, jawline and sideburns Greenshirt is Brian and viceversa.

I think the reason Brain's shirt changed color was either he changed really quick for the shot, meh, or the distortion to the video caused the change.

I think the "There was more." comment is quite obvious. Alex was about to confront Slender Man with witnesses in full daylight on camera. Entry 12 then just cut out abrutly, and J didn't bother to put a trailing commentary. /There was more/ to that encounter documented on tape.

Yeah, I'm not 100% committed to it being Cameraguy, although I'm not sure it isn't. I wondered, as well, if it was the distortion causing the shirt colour change (and wondered because my initial impression was that Green Shirt was Brian, due, as you said, to hair and sideburns) or if he'd changed shirts, and it very well may have been--with the girl behind the camera. I'm still not sure though. I feel like Green Shirt isn't as broad as Brian is and his hair is paler (but the lighting! I dunno), but it's sooo hard to tell from just that one fleeting shot. I'm trying not to 100% commit myself to any theory at all, really, although I am very compelled to believe that Cameraguy = TTA.

The sideburns are what are mostly Brianesque, I agree. He has weird traily pointy bits on his sideburns that the Cameraguy doesn't have in nine, but the guy appears to have in 12, but they look thinner than Brian's in 12 <-- confusing sentence.

What's also Brianesque (aside from the jaw): Green Shirt is scratching his lip or something and god why is Brian so itchy and fidgety?

Man I am so tired of hearing "Let's go ahead and give it a shot" from rewatching this.

Okay two things I wanna say before I log off and go get dinner.

One, I've been looking around and this memory thing is jabbing at me.
1. Alex films himself obsessively
2. Alex keeps writing down these keywords and pictures (also obsessively)
3. One of those pages, (found by J in Entry 16), says Forget What I See.

This leads me to believe that Alex realized that he saw things and was forgetting them until he was reminded of them when reviewing his tapes. So to make sure nothing was slipping by him he started obsessively recording things.

This now gets supported by J's admission of not remembering Entry 17.
I just really wanted to put that out there in a solid state.

Two, Ugly makes a good point. Brian is super itchy. Maybe there's bugs out there nipping at him, or maybe people have unique physical side effects from being in proximity with Slenderman. Like Brian being itchy and Jay coughing or being cold.

I actually wasn't trying to suggest that the itching was SM-related, just trying to say that Green Shirt scratching his chin was faintly suggestive of it being Brian, but I dunno why it shouldn't be. Skin crawling, indeed. I've wondered if it was significant since he goes so out of his way to scratch his leg there.

Hm. It's a close call as to who Greenshirt is, as both Camera Dude and J have similar profiles, though they look pretty different when facing the camera.

Yeah, I'd probably say that Blueshirt is Brian. So Greenshirt seems to be either Camera Dude or J. But I really can't guess on this because it's pretty vague otherwise.

I don't think Greenshirt is Brian. Brian, I think, had a much squarer bone structure.

Seconding the square bone structure thing--that's what I was trying, poorly, to say when I said that Green Shirt didn't appear to be as broad as Brian.

I am not wanting to say it's J, despite the obvious resemblances. For one I feel like his voice (yes, I know we only have two definite syllables) is different (deeper? Not sure). Also I feel like J himself would have noticed and said something, even though it was such a fleeting glimpse. I feel like even that half a second is enough for a person to identify himself on film.

It would be interesting, though. And I'm not ruling anything out, from Brian to J to (oh god, please no) an unintroduced character. I just think points are mostly in favour of Cameraguy. The more I watch the less I am willing to say distortion could have caused that drastic a difference in colour from Brian's shirt; also, I think it's unlikely that Brian would have changed shirts for what appears to be a mockup shot.

Also is it just me or does Alex call Cameraguy "Sammy" in #9? Right before he talks about how he helped him load up the car. Maybe I just want to hear it because I'm desperate for a name besides "Cameraguy." Wishful thinking D:
