Maybe Mark is on a boat to Ireland instead of the frozen triangle.
on an off note, I live about 30 mins away from where Mark supposedly lives, Montauk. =)

The geometric design on the back is the trace of the knight's tour that spells out the question:

hey guys, i don't think this is the end of this puzzle. Remember that the way to rapture must be unlocked using the 3-fold lock and the 7-fold key. we know the 3-fold lock is the cube because it has 3 phases to it. using the same logic there has to be 7 phases to the actual combination. i think this is only the beginning of a much larger puzzle.

Well this is an interesting problem, looks like we have the answer to the white knights question "the red pawn lies" and all that stuff and the like, however i think that they arent done coding the cube yet, thus its gone from both sites. At some point mark will probably take out the cube on the ship or it will re-appear when he gets back home.
And now....we wait...

The solution is definitely a knight's tour of the 8x8 board:

"dolmens" of course being those stonehenge-type things that Lynch was blabbing on and on about back in June. It was his FAKE obsession and he was trying to lead Mark away from Rapture.
So where are the dolmens? IRELAND
And that is the 7-fold key which we have to type into the 5x5 puzzle!
Problem is: the box is nowhere to be found!
Wait how did they come up with this question and answer on the 2k forums?

Lutwidge said something about the "knightly tour" and the "knight's question" so we 2 and 2 together, and did a closed knight's tour of the 8x8 grid, ending in the question mark, giving us the question.

Except for Lutwidge referred to Lynch directly as the Red Pawn

Something just occurred to me. We know that Lutwidge made the metal box before he went to Rapture, so if the key includes "The Red Pawn Lies," that means he must have had his fight with Lynch before then... that may not be important, but I would be very interested to learn exactly what they fought about.

Marks Home Update Back at marks home his lawyer has left a very pissed off sounding message. Apparently Mark has ditched a court date, the lawyer also mentioned something about a childhood book that once belonged to Cindy...hmmm wonder what that book was?
Other than that the Meltzer ranch seems unchanged

has anyone found out why you can't access the 5x5 grid, or at least why some of us can't? it's really annoying when freedom is like two feet in front of you, and you're stuck having to stare at a room and a ship which are obsolete of the metal box.

This may be a dumb question, but...
Have you completed all of the puzzles on your own computer?

Re: reason for the missing or present box fROM THE WIKI.

So I was checking out the wiki, seems there is a reason for our box problem.
Depending on whether or not the viewer has solved the "Coordinate Piano" of the Jewelry Box puzzle, the site will appear in different ways:
Scenario 1 - The metal box is gone. This scenario appears to hinge on the solving of the jewel box puzzle earlier in the game which in turn causes the first level of the metal box puzzle to disappear, whether solved or not.
Scenario 2 - The metal box remains on the table in a paper bag and opens to the first level puzzle. This occurs on a computer on which the jewel box puzzle was never solved resulting in the metal box continuing to open to the first level puzzle even after level one was successfully solved.
Scenario 3 - The metal box remains on the table in a paper bag and opens to the first level puzzle on a computer from which the site is accessed for the first time. The jewel box puzzle and lack of it's solution is likely the cause as in Scenario 2.
that is the reason

So close... In an attempt to make the Metal Box reappear, I solved the Jewel Case again which did make it come back. I was then able to unlock the 2nd layer of the Box (the one with the solution of PHRONIMA). The 3rd layer began to load, but then I was sent back to Mark's Office.
My conclusion is the site isn't ready for us to reach the next level. They probably hoped it would take us longer to find the Knight's Question in the tile floor. With any luck, they'll throw us something else to keep us occupied or you know... give us the Metal Box back.

I wonder if they might have something different up their sleeve... I doubt they'd give us the floor tiles before they'd finished coding the box.
On the other hand, maybe they finished coding it, then noticed some kind of glitch that they had to fix, so they're just stalling for time now.
