I'm working on de-coding now... will post it when I'm done.

**edit**
I've ALMOST got all of it decoded, but I gotta go to bed. It will just have to wait until first thing in the morning- unless anyone else feels froggy. (It's ALOT of characters!)

Here's as far as I could get last night before I went cross-eyed... I realize a few sections don't make sense, but it was getting late.

Y'know, seeing as I've been playing ARGs for three years, you'd think I'd know how to decrypt this, but coding was never my strong suit...so I've really no idea. Hex didn't work. What did you guys use to decode this?

Also, stareater, you might want to spoiler your results so people who want to do it on their own (like me Razz) won't accidentally read it.

Another thing i noticed: I'm not a programmer, nor do I claim to be, but for a page that seems to be quite basic, with no links or anything, it seems odd that the Dipper's Roadhouse site should have this script in it:

function AC_GetArgs(args, ext, srcParamName, classid, mimeType){
var ret = new Object();
ret.embedAttrs = new Object();
ret.params = new Object();
ret.objAttrs = new Object();
for (var i=0; i < args.length; i=i+2){
var currArg = args[i].toLowerCase();
switch (currArg){
case "classid":
break;
case "pluginspage":
ret.embedAttrs[args[i]] = args[i+1];
break;
case "src":
case "movie":
args[i+1] = AC_AddExtension(args[i+1], ext);
ret.embedAttrs["src"] = args[i+1];

JavaScript

That's some pretty innocuous JavaScript that I think is just helping to power some of the audio going on behind the scenes. That site was added as part of an update to the Chester's Mill home page yesterday. There's also a new one for Christian Radio and a church that I had not seen before.

My decoded note above is now spoiler-safe Wink

awesome, dood! glad you followed that one. remember that book i downloaded, the one i told you about? that's the key to solving my next puzzle. here's how it works: the parts will all look like this: 16b37c. the first part is the page number. the first letter is the paragraph number. after that is the word number in that paragraph. if there's a 'c' at the end, you only use the first character. if there's a 'w,' you use the whole word, dig? since those doods are finally giving me some more content for the chester's mill middle school site, i'm going to start hiding more messages for you in the new pages. search through them to find more instructions. Scarecrow Joe

The book is here:

I consciously did not spoiler my little bit above because it's at the end, and after you,ve done a word or two, it's just time consuming grunt work after that. Only one or two repeated groups, its a lot of look up and count. I think that getting the general ideal of this one is close enough!

I'm SO sorry I forgot about this when I got up.... please don't kill me. Thank you for doing the bottom part stareater! That was alot of individual characters! Hopefully the PM will decide to use WORDS next time instead of characters...
Anyway, here's the beginning:

If someone would want to write a script to solve these, I'll make a list of the known abc's that we have so far? Anyone?

Love that dirty water....

I'm not real sure how new it is.. I first seen it yesterday, but I believe it was added with the latest update. Not too sure, I have been away from the game for a little while last week.
BTW here's the youtube video the music is from..
---
Also on the hospital page, they spell it both ways... Cathy Russell and also Cathy Russel... guess someone was a bit pre-occupied at some point.
--
And it does seem like there are several pages/sites that are set up to have stuff added later with the coding. Any ideas?

Are there enough repeating groups to do that?
Looks like they just grab a letter pretty much at random.
