I disagree. Mask Guy has longer hair than Alex, and it's black. Now, sure, this is supposed to take place three years after we last saw Alex, but it was all filmed at the same time in the real world.

And, I grabbed a screenshot of Mask Guy laying far away from J during the second struggle.

The more we talk about this, the more certain I am that someone came out of hiding after the masked man rushed at J - if it wasn't from the door behind J, it was from nearby and from an unseen vantage point, as we didn't have any hint of a second person before the scuffle and the scuffle and weird camera angles make it hard to pick up on two people besides J until you start breaking it apart...

Whether or not masked man is trying to protect J or hurt J, it still stands to reason that SOMEONE ELSE came into the room at some point after the initial "attack". I say "attack" because we don't know for certain that masked man was out to hurt J. At least, not yet.

I've been watching it and looking for that but I can't say I agree 100% - the design of the mask and the poor lighting could be causing it to cast a deep shadow across the wearer's jawline, which in the low quality grainy goodness of a youtube video could appear to be underlying sideburns...

I'm not convinced yet, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

Also, as a man with some vicious muttonchops himself, I'd say I would think they'd be MORE noticeable than that - like, sticking out the bottom of the mask noticeable - but maybe that's just mine. =P

Muttonchops are hot, thank you for preserving them.

I'm wondering if it's a shadow, too. The only time it DOESN'T look like a shadow to me is right before he lunges back up from the floor towards the end. Even then I'm not sure. But it LOOKS like the sideburns.

However if it's Tim I imagine it'll be easy for J to find that out, so I doubt we'll have to wonder about it for very long.

Also said Tim because I think (not sure) Tim has the darkest hair, and yeah, it's really dark in that house, but his hair looks... pretty well black when J shines the light on him.

Not committed to anything, as usual.

That's what I was getting at when I said that he had longer, blacker hair than Alex. There are only two people in MH who don't have sandy-blond buzz cuts, and one of them is female.

The masked one charging someone "behind" J doesn't need to come from behind the locked front door. If you recall the layout of the house from the last time, the door is right at the bottom of the stairs and there are rooms on either side of the hallway. The other person could have come out from any of those places (the locked room upstairs???)

 		in response to a possible TTA response, i went through and looked at how many days it was in between each response from entry to TTA entry.

1st response: 3
2nd response: 2
3rd response: 3
4th response: 5
5th response: 3
6th response: 5
7th response: 3

seems to be an ALMOST solid pattern. so i have a feeling it's 2,3,or5 days til response.

You're completely right - I mistook the front door for a door to a room.. screw my theory about the door being involved at all, I redact that and replace it with the theory that someone else came from *somewhere* behind J.

Either way, it supports the two strangers plus J theory.

 		OMG guys when it's convulsing listen carefully you can CLEARLY hear a girl's gasp. I think. Is it just me? Can someone isolate the sound I'm hearing?

It would explain the mass amounts of dark hair, too. And confusion with sideburns. Someone? Am I hallucinating?

I heard it too.... and the masked person seems to have a feminine jaw structure, too....

 		At least the response should give some sort of clue to the first question: Whether or not Maskface is TTA.

Unless, of course, TTA gives us another video like the early ones with just a background and a message.

Also, watching this again, there does seem to be a third person here. There is an interesting sound just when J gets pulled backward, like a grunt of effort. It belongs to someone with a deep voice.

The Camera Dude has the deepest voice of all of the MH team.
