The message changed.

Logan's laughter has replaced the "this is josh" message.

Uploaded the recording to my Picture Place on Verizon. Brace for message.

EDIT: GARFUNKLE.

I can't save the recording, but I have it on my phone. I can send it to people, but that's about it.

Recording of what? The voicemail message? Or did you speak with Logan?

If you spoke with Logan, I need to pm you my number so you can text it to me - but somehow I think you mean the voicemail message.

The altered voicemail message. It's Logan laughing.

Yeah someone noticed that a while back, yesterday or the day before I think. It's a few pages back if I recall.

I still think we all need to pitch in to cover a list of topics to ask Logan, assuming he actually answers the phone. We still need to consider that he may not - or maybe we were supposed to tell Joshua to call him today at 2:36?

Here's some things I think we should ask if we get to talk to him:

1) Where has he been?
2) Why did he disappear?
3) What is the significance of the pictures he's been posting? (aside from creepout factor obviously)
4) Why did he pretend to be Joshua on the voicemail initially, instead of just telling us we found him?
5) What is the significance of his watch? Also, is it broken/stopped or has he just been taking pictures with it at the same time on purpose?
6) Can he make me a club sandwich? (Sorry, I'm just really hungry. Skipped breakfast. Razz)

Anyone else have anything to add to the list?

It had to have changed some time after noon yesterday, because I called him around 12:30 yesterday and got the regular response. I left him a lengthy scolding message about how his actions had caused me to pick up smoking again.

Fifteen minutes ago, I got the laughing.

Haha thats funny. Maybe I should leave him a message telling him that the slow pace at which his insanity is progressing has led me to take up drinking again, and I feel that he should apologize.

I'm going to give it a call in a few minutes, I haven't heard the laughter first hand but I figure it might be worth a listen.

EDIT: This may be OOG, but I don't think that's actually a cell phone. 99% of all cell phone voicemail systems, if you press # or * it will ask you for your password - so you can check your voicemail when you don't have the phone on hand. Call it up and try hitting either, it just skips the message and beeps for you to record your message. I think this might be a digital answering machine or a PBX. Didn't someone say they ran the info on the number and it was linked to a physical location?

The thing about that is, it won't activate the account system unless the phone is on.

It's not on.

Thats not entirely true. When my Blackberry dies and I'm on the road, I call the number from my backup cell and check my voicemail that way. It might change from carrier to carrier, but since the voicemail system is a separate entity entirely from the phone itself, the phone being on or off shouldn't change how it operates.

I'm no expert on these things but I'm 99% certain that the digital voicemail systems of most major cellphone carriers work totally independently of your cell phone - which is the reason why you can check your voicemail online, from other phones, etc, and why companies like Verizon can keep a running list of your voicemail online for you, or let you download them, email them, etc. That's all contained on their system, not on your device.

This just reminds me of the digital voicemail PBX systems of the last decade, which I worked with a LOT back then... it may be completely inconsequential, but this combined with the fact that someone managed to attach a latitude and longitude to the number somehow, and it came up residential, makes me think that its a land line and not a cellphone.

Not that this changes anything in any way, shape or form. Man, the clock needs to move faster - after 2:30pm EST we wont have to wax philosophical about the intricacies of voicemail systems, we'll have updates to work with. =P

An easy way to find out what parent carrier the phone has is to check the first three digits [not the area code.]

A guess would say it's Cingular [now AT&T]. Can't be positive that it isn't a land line yet.

The proof is in the pudding, as they say.

411 Reverse Number Search

For those too lazy to click, here's what we find:

(518) 631-5813
Type: Land Line
Provider: Verizon
Location: Schenectady, NY

This supports my theory that it's not a cell phone, but rather a household voicemail, digital PBX or digital answering machine.

But this raises further questions - 1) is this an OOG issue, where they wanted the number to be known as a cellphone but for some reason used a landline instead of buying a $10 prepaid cell to use? 2) did Joshua lie to us about that being his old cell phone number, and instead knowing that it was the phone at a physical location where Logan could be hiding out? and 3) is it worth mentioning to Joshua that his "old prepaid cell phone" is coming up as a landline from verizon? Maybe given that information he could determine where Logan is hiding.

Also I'm still curious - did anyone ever tell Joshua about our findings to call today at 2:36? Because maybe we were supposed to tell him, and HE is supposed to call Logan. Maybe the clues weren't for us.

All speculation, all the time - we're fair and balanced just like Fox News Wink

Probably in class. He mentioned having a class this morning I believe and another one at 2:30 - which is why he said he can't make the call exactly on time.

I'd offer to contact Joshua but I have no previous contact with him and as such he may not bother reading or responding to what I say.

Anyone here who has talked to him previously may want to mention this phenomenon to him now - since we're coming to the end of our countdown timer...

We're probably supposed to figure out what the house at 215 is ourselves, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. If I were calling, I'd probably ask him about his eye, too.
