It makes sense. The Hans array is in there and if you notice the last string, we have NYDYDYEW again. That must be the trigger to activate the second array then. I have a feeling that we are just going to have to wait until they activate it.

you're right except 'supped' means to eat, like supper. and boot is the german word for boat, or uboat, which would be a submarine.

so it would mean: Hans Hungry last ate inside a submarine which can never go up

so i guess we just wait until the puzzle is updated.

Hans Hunger died on U336 when it was sunk. So that was the last place he did anything, including eating. This has to be it then. Which still means that we wait... again.

I confess to being a little disappointed that they released the next puzzle before they'd coded it to accept the solution. They still have several months left, you'd think they could keep us occupied until they were ready.

Also, it's odd that Aluminus was able to hack it and find the string... didn't they used to have some kind of program on the site that prevented us from looking at the code with hex editors? I seem to recall finding a comment in green that explained how the password system worked and why we couldn't read it. Or could you always do that, and I just didn't know how to crack it?

It's happened before... maybe they thought it would take us longer to figure out.

You are right, that they usually have safeguards against this kind of download-and-run method. The flash file download requests are usually preceded by NO-CACHE HTTP modifiers, which means the browser isn't allowed to save a copy of the flash locally. Apparently they didn't do that this time, because I found it pretty easily.

K. The German U Boat U336 was captained by a man named, get this, Hans Hunger. LC and I were thinkin, what if by supped, he meant stepped, and by boot, he meant boat. Hungry Hans last stepped inside a boat which can never go up. He sunk one boat, the President Francqui, captained by Master G. Bayot. Any thoughts?

I'm aware what supped means. But regardless of that, the NYDYDYEW gives us the code for U336, captained by Hans Hunger. No way that's a conicidence. You're welcome. Very Happy

Where do you see that the U336 sunk? I don't remember seeing that on any of the sites we were on...

what do you make of the Tape? it seems he thinks he was being challenged...who do you think the White King is? Ryan? Fontaine?

yeah this is kinda confusing. so it seems the white king commissioned Lutwidge to make a 'metal palace' (the cube?) to lock out the Red Queen. But what does he mean by "but he did not mean to lock me out" ?

could it be "he didn't mean to lock me out, he did it accidentally" or "he did not have it designed to keep me out". I don't know if when he says "no, no, no" he's in denial that the white king locked him out on purpose, or if the white king didn't lock him out because it was made with litwidge in mind to be solvable by him?

i don't know what he means by the white kings mens charts that are littered by the fallen. "all the kings horses and all the kings men" perhaps? humpty dumpty? just throwin' that out there.

the last part talks about wreckage pointing the way which, from what we've found so far with the U-336, means sunken ships will be markers on the way to rapture.

could the Red Queen be Sophia Lamb maybe? I thought the Metal Place meant Rapture actually, guess I was wrong. Terra Incognito means Unexplored Land by the way for those who didn't know,so I guess it's a Rapture reference.

As for the Le Maison Dieu I searched it up and all I found was a reference to a french commune...maybe the Red Queen is Celeste?

Also, maybe the fallen reference is maybe those who died trying to chart Rapture? just my thought

I'm leaning towards Red Queen = Sophia Lamb. If there was anyone Ryan would want locked out of Rapture (Presumably before he started to clamp down and the war began, otherwise she'd end up on Ryan's Wall of Traitors.) then it would be the woman who totally opposes every ideal that Ryan lives for.

Besides, hasn't Lutwidge referred to Celeste as the French woman or his captor?

Ok. I gotcha. I remember seeing that it was attacked, but I didn't remember anything about it sinking.

I'm not sure that Ryan is the White King. Lutwidge resented Ryan for leaving him out of the loop when it came to rapture. Also he refers to that civil war revolutionary (James Oaks?) as the White Knight. it'd be odd for the white knight to be fighting against the white king. More likely is that thew White King is Atlas considering Oaks would have worked for him.

As far as we know, Oakes IS the White Knight. In the Audio Diary on Mark's desk, we here Oakes, who we've speculated could be Fontaine, talks about Lutwidge calling him the White Knight.

yeah i thought he was. i just wasn't completely sure because the audio tape has no name on it and the ID card is in the archives now so there's no direct association.

Yeah, Sylo and I found in the Archives somewhere that Mark said the Audio Log was JMO.

ok upon further investigation (specifically the cover of "RØd Killian Quain's Journal") Lutwidge describes himself as one who ran the Red Queens race. I think because of his pursuit of rapture i think that (though it doesn't conveniently match gender-wise) that the Red Queen is Ryan. Also Scarlet Sovereign was Ryan's front company through which he supplied rapture with materials and the company Lutwidge worked out of for Ryan.

so:

Red Queen = Andrew Ryan
Red Pawn = Jeremiah Lynch
White king = Atlas?
White Knight = James Oaks
White Pawn = Mark Meltzer?

I thought Lutwidge owned Scarlet Sovereign and the company Ryan used was Warden Yarn.
