Nellie Bly

Not sure if it helps, here's some info on Nellie Bly (the ship that Meltzer is on right now):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nellie_Bly

Long story short, she is a a journalist who faked insanity to get into Bellevue in order to investigate how people were treated there. Kind of intriguing ...

Thought i should post something to clear some stuff up.

I think the submarine was dead on that i found with Cataclysmic V, what led me to this however was not the U336, that was just dumb luck. What got my attention is in Lutwidges most recent tape he is talking about "Their charts are littered with the fallen...the charts make no sense but if one were to descend...(meaning look on the sea floor for landmarks that aren't visible from the surface)" He is not talking about people per say, he means ship wrecks. If we go wayyyyy back to the rubix toob anyone remember the "Triangle in the triangle" stuff. All that makes me sane is screaming that there is a spot on the sea floor where a pattern of shipwrecks are, notabely that by the U336 there are a god 8 other U boats there too that were sunk.

As for the metal palace...remember the gigantic magnetically-locked doors that Andrew had put in front of his office back in bioshock? Is it possibly that lutwidge put those in for Ryan during the time he was down in Rapture?

Im gonna continue working with Cataclysmic V online, more to come soon im sure!

It wasn't dumb luck necessarily, the connection between the fallen and U-Boats was made, and I noticed that the code said U336. Nevertheless, I'm quite proud of our find. Mental high five in 3... 2... 1... ALL RIGHT!

hmm.. you might be right... but then who's the red queen? Lutwidge himself? Then what of the metal palace?

I'm sticking with the theory that Scarlet Sovereign is the Red Queen and Rapture is the metal palace since Lutwidge sold Ryan the iron to build it. Ryan cut ties with the companies that helped build Rapture so no one would be able to find it. We know this because of Lutwidge's letter stating that some of the iron was still sitting on the docks, rusting. So that also cut ties with Lutwidge since he owned the company. He was however capable of being invited to Rapture but was "locked out" because of his company. So he went looking on his own.

According to the actual game info and interviews, the big bad at the end is a female who is now running Rapture. It might be her.

I think we're all looking into things a little too much. Yes Lutwidge has a twisted mind, but I think I'm starting to understand it. Anyone he's sees as an enemy is Red and anyone who is a friend is White.
To Lutwidge:
Rapture = Wonderland, the Metal Palace
Andrew Ryan = The Red King, Orion
Atlas/Fontaine = The White King, Atlas
James Millard Oaks = The White Knight
Lynch = The Red Pawn.

Now the Red Queen is most likely Sofia Lamb because she was not present during Bioshock 1. She was "locked out"

Lutwidge sees himself as Alice from Through the Looking-Glass. A pawn who crossed the board and became a "Queen".

Lutwidge's company, Scarlet Sovereign, was screwed over by Ryan. So he did investigating to see what Ryan was using all that metal for: Rapture. Lutwidge though he was worthy of being a part of that city. So while trying to find the exact location of Rapture he placed false clues for others to find. However like the Riddler, Lutwidge has to leave clues for the true path. Only a true knight, like Parsifal or Mark in our case, is worthy of following him.

I always thought that any mention of the White Pawn was in regards to Jack. I think Lutwidge knew OF Jack one way or another, but he was kicked out (along with Sophia Lamb maybe) before the plasmids really hit the fan. All he knows is that the plane went down at the right stop and some transmission he was getting from Rapture ended.

Meltzer has been classified as 'The Seeker' which was more of a place holder for Lutwidge to say 'Whomever Is The Guy I Drive Half Insane Who Is Actually Crazy Enough To Follow All These Clues.'

Apparently Mark's figured out something about the Knight's Journey=Knights Tour (of course!) I wonder what he means...

Are we supposed to be able to open the book by Lynch? There's a bookmark ("DOLMENS!") in it, but I click on it and it does nothing.

Dolmens

Hey guys, I've read the entire thread, have been lurking since page 22. I'm sure somebody already posted this, but Dolmens are burial chambers, large boulders with a table stone on top, found all over the world, Ireland, France, India. I believe there is a picture of one such Dolmen in Mark's file drawer, May 29-June 12. What is the signifigance?

Dolmens were a feigned/faked obsession by Lynch. Those dolmens are in a place called Carrowmore, in Ireland. That is the solution to a previous puzzle, the "5x5"

I understand the relevance, but why put the bookmark reference on the sight now that the 5x5 has been solved. Or was this just the next clue to lead everyone to the 5x5 answer, and the members of this site solved it before it was time?

I'm not actually sure if Mark has solved the 5x5 or not. I though he did, but then why would he still be researching about dolmens? There have been cases where we've solved a puzzle "early" and clues keep coming out after the fact.
