I went through all the main entries this evening, more than once, and made a list of what we know as fact, by each character, in anyone is interested. Since everything is one place, it might help connect the dots. After all, when your evidence is scattered it might make things a little harder to follow.

That's assuming we have a riddle to solve in the first place and its not just a semi-interactive movie.

J:
-We know that Alex and J were friends, presumingly close enough that Alex hand over the video tapes he planned to burn.
-After seeing pictures and stories about the Slender Man on Something Awful, he decided to go look over Alex's tapes.
-He's had memory blackouts, which began about three years ago. As of late, his health is deteriorating.
-He was in the fifth and thirteenth eateries, and every entry from fifteen and onward.

Alex:
-Alex was a film student, shooting a movie called "Marble Hornets".
-Alex wanted to destroy the tapes. While he did begrudgingly give them to J, he said he wanted nothing to do with them and didn't want them shown to other people.
-His health was also deteriorating. The last time J saw him he was thin and pale.
-Eventually, he was said to have transferred schools never to be seen again.
-When know that the ordeal with Slender Man at least made Alex's behavior become more eccentric and he showed signs of paranoia. He was irritable in some situations.
-He appeared in every entry from the first to the fourteenth and again in the seventeenth.

Brian:
-Brain was an actor in "Marble Hornets".
-He was presumingly a friend of Alex's, close enough he would confide somethings with.
-He appears in the seventh and twelfth entries and is mentioned in the seventeenth. He is mentioned in entry five.

Tim:
-Tim was an actor in "Marble Hornets".
-He was more a friend to Brian than he was to Alex.
-In entry fifteen, he claims that Alex's irritability might have been due to someone leaving dead animals at his property.
-In entry seventeen his face was shadowed.
-He appears in entries nine, fifteen, and seventeen and is mentioned in the seventh. He is assumed approaching in the twelfth entry.

Sarah:
-Sarah is an actress in "Marble Hornets".
-She appears in entries nine and twelve. She is also mentioned in entry five.

Unknown Camera Man:
-He only appears in entry nine, as far as we know.

ToTheArk:
-He first replied to the entries after the ninth entry.
-He is cryptic and his messages are intended largely for J.
-He claims listening is important.
-He was likely in the House, filming J during entry twelve. While not proven, its the most likely case.

Masked Man:
-He was in the House in entry eighteen.
-He made aggressive actions towards J, seemingly to attack him.
-He had a seizure shortly after the attack.
-When J tried to remove his mask, he attacked to prevent it.
-During both of his aggressions towards there was audio distortion.

Slender Man:
-When he appeared in entries, four, six, and ten there was no audio.
-When he appeared entries five and seven, there was audio distortion. There was also slight video corruption in entry five. The audio corruption in entry seven was towards the very end before the clip cut out.
-Despite appearing in entries elven and fourteen, there is no audio or video corruption.
-When he appeared in entry twelve there was both visual and audio curroption.
-When he appears in entry thirteen there was visual corruption, around Tim's head.
-He was following around Alex

The Woods:
-A lot of Slender Man activity seems to be happening around the filming of Marble Hornets, even when they were just "scouting".

The House:
-A tip lead J to the house, from an unknown source.
-The house, despite being in ruins, has showed signs of someone living there at least recently, even if they were just squatting.
-Blood was found in the house, in small droplets leading to a blood filled sink.
-Some of Alex's drawings were found there, or at the very least drawings very similar to Alex's. J took some.
-There was a bullet casing found in the house. J took this.
-There were two pill bottles in the house. J too one.

You wanna know something really funny? One of the people involved in Marble Hornets has posted in this thread several times, but his posts always got ignored.

Someone asked earlier in the thread why people think that Slenderman could possibly be controlling people. While I think that it is possible that they are just going insane due to stress from seeing Slenderman, I think it is just as likely he is controlling them. Or at least trying to control them. The blackout may be a symptom of this. While he is controlling them they have no memory of it, so they have blackouts. I did get this theory from the SA forums, but who knows if J is following the mythos put forward on the SA forums, or is making up his own mythos. I guess it is all speculation until we get some concrete proof either way.

Gamejack. Wow, this is getting old.

So. We are collecting facts now, which is all well and good. But where is this going to get us? Speculation threw us far, far off track, but most of the speculation was based on the facts we were given. We just misinterpreted it.

Collecting these facts is fine. We should have a collective database, perhaps a page on the wiki, with this information compiled. But how exactly is it going to help us? I think we've already deduced that we don't have nearly enough information from what we've been given so far to draw any conclusions. The clues from the TTA videos have either been figured out, or are so vague that we don't know to what they might refer.

Right now it doesn't seem like we have much choice but to wait for future videos. We have little information, hardly enough to compose theories from, and, at present, we really don't have any decent course of action but to wait and see.

This series sits very uncomfortably between a film and an ARG. It's kind of hard to figure out how to treat it as such.

Long time lurker first time poster.

I think it's reasonable to think that SM is causing memory loss. Alex started taping himself so he could investigate what was happening during lost time, and now J, though he hadn't realized it before, has found footage of him that he doesn't remember (Entry 17).

I'm not sure which way to go, is Masky Alex? Or ToTheArk? Both theories have flaws. Actually almost everything we've come up with so far has flaws, we've been given so little information. Whoever mentioned that Masky might have seizured because J took his meds might be onto something.

So I got my wife to marathon the entries and replies last night. She is now thoroughly creeped out and addicted. I just want to post a bit of OOG praise and evaluation here, and maybe a little speculation.

I think that whoever is making these videos deserves a bit of praise. These guys (and gals) have taken a very nebulous mythos created on a forum and given it life in a very creative way. I haven't been scared of a horror movie since I was a child, and I am still a little shaken by the MH vids. Last night, after watching them all with my wife, I had the creeps for hours, until I finally went to bed. I was still kinda freaked until I went to sleep.
The TTA entries have been a nice (and well put together) touch, as well. They are what has brought MH from a cool student film project to an ARG, in my opinion. The small clues and ambiguous information presented in both the MH vids and the TTA responses are so tantalizing that I can't shake them from my mind. It's reminiscent of the Harry Potter phenomenon to me, except we don't have to wait a year or more for the next installment. Anyway, enough gushing (and sorry if that was inappropriate, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the whole thing). [/OOG]

I think that one of the core mysteries here is the identity and motivation of TTA. My current (completely speculative) idea is that TTA is kind of a lone SM hunter. In my mind, TTA is someone who had a run in with SM in the past, and has become obsessed with him. I think that he may have tracked him down to the MH shooting location (which is how he got the video of J getting the battery from the car), but lost track of SM after Alex bolted. Once J started posting the videos, TTA has picked up on it and is trying to contact J. His weirdness and cryptic nature could be due to SM exposure, or just that he want to be secretive about his location and identity. I know that there's no real evidence backing this up, but it's no more insane that killer attack robots in masks, right?
