could someone [re?]post an image of the tearing in 16?
i've heard tell of it around the time J's in the closet, but can't really see it for the life of me

I was looking at those screen shots and the wooden "thing" right inside the door at the top of the stairs looks a bit like Alex's dresser from Entry 14.

Based off the small banister you can see in Entry 14 right out side his door it seems like it leads out and right down the steps after a short hallway. The room in the screen shots is at the top of the stairs right where Alex's would lay in his house.

Adds evidence to the pile that the place Brian was hiding was Alex's old house.

Yeah, I'm seriously leaning into the It-Was-The-Same-House-In-Real-Life-But-Not-In-Game camp.

Personally, I think people want it to be Alex's house more than anything, but I could be wrong. It had occurred to me that the reason J called for Alex was because it was really Alex's house, but for some reason, I feel like J would have given us a heads-up if that was the case.

Can we possibly know if this is Alex's house at all?

In entry #11 the entire floor Alex's room is in is exactly the same as the 2nd floor of entry #16, yet the first floor of entry #16 is different than the floor below Alex's room in entry #11 (which actually seems to be the 2nd floor, implying Alex' room is in the 3rd).
Plus, in entry #11 when he goes down the stairs you can see a lit room to the right of the staircase (which in entry #16 would resemble the room with the garbage cans) yet when he enters that room he is in some sort of office, which seems much smaller than the room from entry #16....

I think they are different houses, but why is the 3rd floor of one house identical to the 2nd floor of the other house?

Oh, this is probably irrelevant, but I can prove it if I must, but... Yeah, J said that there was only one staircase in that house. I asked him over the Tube's.
