Man.. that's what happens when you have five minutes before you leave for work and you get some kind of information that requires processing. It would have occured to me if I had the time to really think things over

Upon re-reading it.. I think it's possible that we're dealing with someone with a severe split personality dissorder. Considering the mixed emails we've been getting from the same address.

I'm starting to feel like we're in some bad Keanu Reeves movie.

Heh... I'm just another player in this game, there's no need to do any research on my e-mail address (Lucas Meeks). I used to play a roleplaying game online called Vampire The Masquerade, and this e-mail address just kind of stuck due to the fact a lot of friends only know this particular address. I don't know anything about any furry dragons or anything like that. I just didn't delete my e-mail address from the headers because i'm not really concerned about it. This is by the far the most exciting thing that has ever happened concerning any of my e-mail addresses.

The reason i was away is because my girlfriend tripped over a fan cord and fell flat on her face, breaking the radial head on her left elbow. She is in a cast from her shoulder to her hand and is basically helpless. So i'm kind of playing the slave until she can have her other arm back. I love her and all, but i can't wait for her to be able to actually dress herself again. Thank god it's not that time of the month us men all dread.

At any rate, i had all but forgotten about this little situation, when i logged on tonight to find an e-mail from our friend Lucrezia (Tolmhbe). The content is as follows:

What's specifically interesting about this response is the last line. Maybe i'm being biased, but if i received an e-mail as vague as a "What's not to trust?" I think i would have a hard time assuming i was alluding to the game i earlier explained away. She simultaneously resists the idea, and gives away more information. The headers indicate the e-mail is genuinely from tolmhbe.it

I'm really impressed with what you all have done in regard to the bar code. I'm not much for codes or anything along those lines. I just happened to get a response. If anything needs researching, i'm the guy for that. =D

Yeah man, that barcode stuff was all research. I didn't know crap about it before, now I know how to decypher 3 or 4 different barcode types (well at least the formula for doing so), and how to tell the difference just by looking at them. And my girlfriend complains that I'm wasting too much time on games....PSHAW!

Anyway, back to the task...notice the way she said "Can you please explain the other people this is not a game."

"This is not a game" is exactly the last line of the first email that Fog got from the fake Tolmhbe (the very first post on this forum).

Sounds fishy. Also, the way the two people conversing through email have so much in common (4 fingers on the left hand, drugs every day, the scars on their wrists) leads me to also think split personalities (schizoprhenia maybe, because of the spiders under the skin, or was that just the medicine?). But it may be too soon to start putting that stuff together.

What ever happened to our number 0822162710052? Was that supposed to lead us to MBOX.txt somehow? Did we just take too long with that, so the PM gave us an obvious hint on how to find MBOX? Or is that still a clue that we need to apply somewhere?

Hi Guys,

I am still plugging away at the number but I am afraid I am still not having much success. But I have a slightly unorthodox decryption idea that may prove useful. In response to what Joknatson said, I think the number is still a lead worth investigating - I doubt it points to mboxtxt.

I wonder if we couldn't get everyone who has received a mysterious email to upload it to the forum in plaintext so that we can examine them in more detail.

What exactly are our current leads ... beside the number that is?

Well first off.. we do have to decipher that number. I agree. I doubt that leads to MBOX.TXT. I have a gut feeling it's something else.. something important. I checked out her four friends on Orkut and they seem legit and not connected in any way. I went through all their scrapbooks and they all had normal stuff in them.

Now onto MBOX.TXT, There is the case of that little bit at the end with the wierd symbols. I think we should look at that a little more. I don't think that it's a mistake that it's in there.

Also, I downloaded the web pages for her info page and her scrapbook. Is it legal to post the files here ? If not, anyone who wants a copy can contact me.

Cyfre: Hehe.. reminds me of the last ARG I was involved with. EVERYONE thought that this one guy was a PM through the whole game cuz he was so good at acting the part. We didn't find out until after the game that he was a player and that explains why he freaked out so badly when I contacted him on ICQ with some cryptic puzzle that I needed more information to solve. All of us were doing backround research on him like crazy cuz we thought he was a game character.

I think Ame is a distinct personality of the same person, along with Lucrezia, and the "other" that originally made contact. Wonder if it's a side effect of the medicine? If the medicine was to treat it, it isn't working very well. So, we have suicidal tendencies, multiple personalities, a sister, and 4 friends. Possible that the 4 friends are all personalities? That would mean there is one more to be seen. I think the characters at the bottom of mbox are meaningful but how? The string is too short to begin trying crypto and I tried looking at ascii values but the square has MANY possibilities rendering it pretty much useless. So we have that and a number string, both of which are elusive.

I did extensive research into the four friends on her Okut site including a LOT into Zingus. All seem legit and there is nothing special about any of them. I think that the "Four Friends" are multiple personalities.

The only things that bother me are these three things about MBOX.TXT: First off, why would two personalities who speak very bad English be communicating in each other in English ?

Seccond: The part where it says " i will always remeber you
tapping at my room's window." doesn't fit with multiple personality or maybe it's another psychosia.. hearing things ? What could be tapping at the window ? Or it could be a figure os speach meaning "Tapping on my conciousness" ?

The third part :tha new medcine feel like spiders under my skin. they keeps asking about
fire and my parents and full monn.

Monn=Moon ? Could she suffer from moon madness or some kind of lycanthrope ? or some personality that comes out under a full moon ? Did she kill her parents ? What about the fire ?

Also.. the drugs.. is she being treated for some mental disorder or being interrogated with some kind of truth serum ? Who is the "they" ??

We need to figure out that number code and find out if that string at the end of MBOX.TXT is significant for something.

To get onto , you need to use the Opera browser. Once there, there is nothing on the page but a jpeg with letters and numbers wich I post below. I don't have time tonight to desteg the thing to see if anything is in it as it's already 4 AM and I have to go to bed.

I've been having a look at all this and I'll have a go at destegging the image soon, although I'm better at other things. I noticed visiting the site in IE that there's a java popup that loads up and requires you to click. It could be an ad or suchlike so I haven't touched it yet, but it might be something to look at.

Either we're bugging some poor freelance architect to nuts and everything is just us, being paranoid for a change , or this is a new game starting up! As for that puzzle, it looks almost like an 8-puzzle but I am not sure why the number 4 is there... or that red line...

Regarding our myserious "personalities", I have been going on the assumption that Ame does refer to rain and that our speaker is likely Japanese (possible suggested by the photo?) Also, this makes sense considering the rain references. And the rain frequently taps as my window...

And lastly, we have the 'junk' characters at the bottom of the mboxes (and possibly those that form the 'name' from the ICQ log) and the number. Still haven't cracked the meaning of these yet.

At least we have some diverse leads now!
