The youngest ever winner of the prestigious Kepler Prize, Nigel applied his cosmology background to the practicalities of engineering, with a focus on astronautics. Amusingly, the Ponsford Stand is the name of a (now demolished) stand at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

I deciphered the lines on the pod panel opposite QVNSMQ.
There are 24 lines. each letter is 4 lines. the first 4 and last 4 lines are identical so this leads me to believe that those lines are for "Q"

Writings

Translations

Anyone recognize this as pre-existing code?

(I can't get the IMG code to work for some reason, so I'm using the URL code)

I think you're right, DrNicket. I doubt it's a preexisting code, but it does give us the start of a translation key that may be useful for breaking other ciphers in the later stages of the game.

Also, bugefun mentioned earlier that the second map from the Bradford Rand account was just a "random point on a cloud". I've taken a closer look at it, and by very carefully mousing over the point and clicking "send to", I've extracted the coordinates: 36.947422,-109.085999.

On the one hand, this seems to be out in the middle of nowhere, right at the north-eastern corner of Arizona. On the other hand, it's very close to being within that second block of coordinates bugefun posted. I have my doubts that it's a pod location, but could something else be there?

You're right on with your analysis.
The code used is based on a TADF schema and, specifically is codified under the British mail system specification RM4SCC (minus the "start", "checksum" and "stop" components).
So, the decode is just "QVNSMQ"

ETA: I guess the Dutch use a version of this code called, "KIX" which leaves out the start/end/checksum bars so that makes more sense.

They updated the maps. Now instead of showing the blank world map, they have a different map, which has a box showing the original coordinates. They have the blank world map commented out. This new map is private, so it doesn't show up on their profile. Here is the link though http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ptab=2&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=115428937171909291512.0004782a6da7a94c5beb2
They changed the name of the one with the 2nd coordinates to
Pod 2? #signal crosschk_conf.^ leadshift 8870 conf?

Hi, I am also new to this forum because I am interested in this new LEGO riddle.

I also found out myself the hex code messages hidden in the text which might give some position.

Has anyone any idea, what else the three infos
12J [CR/LF]
656068 and
6995972 could mean?

Could they be part of coordinates?

Regards,

Schredder

This is the second zoom in! It has 4 points that are closer together. Like it said in the video, the points are getting more exact. I bet it will keep doing that! The new coordinates are
34.35, -107.73
34.35, -92.74
28.19,-92.74
28.19, -107.73
You can see it here http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ptab=2&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=115428937171909291512.000478298d839a147a0be

Bugefun did a great job discovering this. It's odd, though, that the OFFICIAL second set of points is so different, i.e:

33.21, -91.71
33.21, -78.22
25.91, -78.22
25.91, -91.71

They don't even overlap! Perpaps what bugefun came across was a false start, and we genuinely weren't meant to see it.

Finding the center of the box doesn't seem to be the answer, as the current set of coordinates puts the center a few miles off the coast of Panama City, FL. The homepage says the pod is expected to land "some time in the first few days of December!" So the coordinates will most likely narrow by then.

I am from FL, lived there over 20 years, so if I had to guess I would say the pod is going to be at the LEGO Imagination Center at Downtown Disney (free, open to the public):

Holy smokes! Not only has this point moved to new coordinates (-27.152033,-109.382629), it's now smack bang on Easter Island! The very same place Bradford Rant went missing! It doesn't coincide with any of the statues though.

Very Happy http://twitter.com/bradfordrant

Not surprising location at all, but it's an absurdly high trafficked area.

I got people in the Kissimmee area if they are needed, and would be more than happy to participate.
