Some more thoughts to add to your great summary Cleptomanx:

Spectrin seems to be a time-travelling company. One of their tips is that "time is fluid", their company began in 1724 apparently and they have cases spanning centuries in their case gallery (including some from early 1800s that are still "open"!)

The tips look coherent with that as well.

I also suspect that Alex's new friend "Matteo" is a Doll. Sounds too coincidental that they met at a park and have suddenly become BFFs overnight.

That a strong possibility. I'm hoping there'll be a picture of him soon so we can compare with the LA Dollhouse actives.

By the way, I think Alex (at least the picture on the blog) is Felicia Day. That would mean she will be Mag when Epitaph One happens and she's very likely the person sending videos via DitchTheTech. That would also mean she's about to get in trouble.

I asked @AlexfromPR for a photo - http://twitter.com/AlexfromPR/status/5749734333. No joy Sad

I think he's def' a doll as she's described him as being "a bit spacey" at times.

I've also received an e-mail from Sara - nothing too enlightening but I have e-mailed back asking her about Alex.

I also sent a separate mail saying that I had mislaid my client kit in the hope she would e-mail me one, alas no joy on that front either!

There's an answer from her on whedonesque. Did you compare ? http://whedonesque.com/comments/22353#350507 bottom of the page.

Also she's talking about investigating botany. The source code of the Rossum index webpages contains keywords linked to botany, especially a plant named Boswellia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boswellia. Though this one isn't native from Iceland or even any northern country. Maybe I'm reaching too far.

The source contains a lot of keywords. I don't know HTML, butis there something to look for ?

I also looked for Ambrose Enterprises. I only came across a roofing company & a custom sportswear dealer.

If Ambrose is indeed the parent company of Rossum Corp. they are hiding a bit.

Ooh, good thought! Rhodiola's also in the list of keywords, and that's a plant that does grow in Iceland.

Great ! It looks like both plants are psychoactive :
Boswellia : frankincense smoke is a psychoactive drug that relieves depression and anxiety in mice [wiki]
Rhodiola rosea may be effective for improving mood and alleviating depression. Pilot studies on human subjects[2][3][4] showed that it improves physical and mental performance, and may reduce fatigue.[wiki]

They probably have a pharmaceutical interest for Rossum and more specifically for dealing with the Dolls. I have no idea if there's something to get out of this. [/url]

Looks like this is going to be blowing up pretty quick... is anyone else able to help update the wiki at http://dollhouse.wikibruce.com? I'm going to sit down soon and go over it with the sites when I'm not at work, but it's getting behind on the recent updates

I'd quite like to help out on updating this - I'm just having trouble piecing together from this thread how we got to various points, i.e. where was the first mention of Spectrin? There's a post on here dated the 13th, but first mention I can find in game (so far) is Alex's blog, dated the 14th, where she says she doesn't know who Sara or Spectrin are. Anyone else know?

It was a clue at wipethefuture.com

There was a login page there over the weekend (now gone) and the code was cracked using clues from @AlexfromPR's twitter feed. When you got through the login you got the message

'Sara at Spectrin

Heiti is key'

and we originally found @AlexfromPR in the source code at wipethefuture.

This LJ post has a good record of it so far.

Not that it's anything new, but I thought the keywords included in the Wipe the Future website were interesting enough to share.

Rossum, evil, future, 2019, L.A. Dollhouse, end of the world, don't pick up the phone, ditch the tech, ditchthetech, wipe, brain, mind, soul, @AlexfromPR

Was curious about how Alex described her first meeting with Matt
http://alexandradawson.wordpress.com/2009/10/02/central-park-huntin/

"Matt (short for Mateo, of all things) today."

Why of all things? Is the name significant? Mateo is Spanish for Matthew as in San Mateo - St Matthew, one of the apostles.

His father was Alphaeus...

In other news there is now an employee login at the Rossum site

The login UI allows you to request a new password. I've been plugging possible user names into it to try to figure out a valid handle (& possibly get clues as to who might be a stealth Rossum employee). Nothing simple has worked yet (alexfrompr, alex, alexd, mateo, liz, sarak, ambrose, etc), but there is, unsuprisingly, a valid "admin" user name.

WipetheFuture now reads "Power Matters" - I'm wondering if this has something to do with a potential password? I tried some combinations referring to the staves (a la the abuse of power), which seem important, but no luck.

I tried the u/p combo of Adelle/wipe from a previous email account thing. No luck.
Her email isn't valid, either.

"Power matters" is definitely a key and since the runes were a new discovery, esp. the ones that Sarak mentioned specifically, I think they should be looked into again... hm.

The posts on Whedonesque directed to the archive of the spectrin webpage : http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://spectrin.com

If you go on the first page, in 2003, it sends you to another webpage : a company named arachnocraft who seems to have designed the spectrin webpage. They seem to work in packaging & advertisement.

Is it part of the ARG ? or are they an actual company that was hired to create it ?
Also, why does the Spectrin webpage go back to 2004 and only appear around now ? It came online in its current version in june 2004, 9th. Before that it seems it was a sketchy version of the Arachnocraft website.

Edit : fixed links

This is _weird_, so I did a bit more digging. This is all probably out-of-game, but it's making me wonder if this ARG is fan-made.

According to their site, the designer at Arachnocraft's name is Dessy Levinson. I googled her and it turns out she is on Whedonesque, but has removed her name from the profile: http://74.125.155.132/search?q=cache:R47yZNQ3sNYJ:whedonesque.com/user/8863+Dessy+Levinson&cd=7&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=nz&client=firefox-a
It looks like Dessy runs www.whyiwatch.com - a Dollhouse fansite.

The Spectrin site has been pretty much the same since 2004, but it just doesn't link to Arachnocraft anymore. I'd love to know why this is in-game. Is it something they already made years ago for something else and are deciding to use for this? So strange!

Dessy's Whedonesque profile mentioned following someone called @gossi on Twitter. Gossi on Whedonesque just posted:
"I do believe arachnocraft isn't part of the ARG portion of the game - just for info. They're a legit company with legit clients so you might be barking up the wrong tree there."

Also: http://twitter.com/whyiwatch/status/5710910782

Spectrin is listed as one of Arachnocraft's clients here: http://74.125.155.132/search?q=cache:Q5Lv6a8VynsJ:www.arachnocraft.com/experience.php+spectrin+-dollhouse+arachnocraft&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=nz&client=firefox-a
