The name barred looks like "Rhodolia". I already found that name in the Rossum source code.
This looks like a receipe. I googled the terms, they are used in skin pharmaceuticals.
Maybe we could look into witchcraft in Iceland with these ingredients ?

I also think the missing one could be Boswellia, the second plant I found in the Rossum source file.

I agree.. Was reading somewhere that the resin from Boswellia could be ground into a kohl type substance. (The frankinsence itself could be used as a pigment, probably.) Which fits with a remark from twitter that the recipe is for tattoo ink. Also, the "cuts on" could be a reference toward the staves the people in Arkanes are putting on their bodies. Tattoo ink can be rubbed into cuts on the skin, ie. scarification.

Just thoughts..

*edit: Cuts ON, not in. Apologies.

Yep, it fits with a tattoo : http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_2156229_make-tattoo-ink.html?cr=1 from @Dragon963.

I think this would interest Sara Kingsley.

I would think it can be used to ink a stave, either for protection (see the Power Matters) or to identify non-dolls.

I have no idea if it's significant or not, but a hash also shows up as the alt tag value for the molecule picture on the Rossum site (it's on http://www.rossumcorporation.com/vision.html, on the right hand side of the page).

It's also there for other pictures on the website. I don't think there's something here?

I emailed Sara asking her if she recognized the ingredients list.
This is her response:

Quote:
Yes, it is. How did you find out about this? There's one more ingredient that I can't find. I will be organizing some more of my notes tonight. Please contact me with all relevant information!

Any thoughts on how I should respond to her?

Good idea to email Sara! I think you should probably email her back, and suggest Boswellia may be the missing ingredient she is looking for.

And you can send her this wikipedia link, which is actually for frankincense.

Received a response from Sara in regards to her possibly receiving any tattoos on her Icelandic adventures... She says no.

I mentioned the recipe in my response, along with the thoughts on it being a recipe for tattoo ink, and suggested Boswellia as the possible missing ingredient/pigment. However, I'm never sure if my wording on these sorts of things will generate an actual response, so it can't hurt for everyone else to try too. Razz

Emailed Sara suggesting Boswellia and also about notes

Sent the following email to Sara, no response yet:
Quote:
I saw your notes about the staves and I was wondering if this looked like a good recipe for the tattoo ink...I know there's one more ingredient, but I can't recall it....maybe Boswellia?
1 quart witch hazel
1 tbsp glycerin
1 tbsp propylene glycol
1 pinch rhodiola

I think the boswellia should be about half the rate of the rhodiola...what have your researches indicated?

crr

Sara @ Spectrin E-mail & Twitter
Suggestions Welcomed!!

OK, so I've sort of gotten myself into a pickle, I think, where Sara is concerned. Ideas would be much welcomed!!

I sent this e-mail:
"Ms. Kingsley,

In doing some research recently, I came across a group of Icelandic staves and a recipe for tattoo ink. Oddly, this also led me to Spectrin. Would there be someone within Spectrin I could talk to about this?

Best Regards,"

And got this reply -- and I have no idea what to answer without exposing breaking into her notes:

"How did this lead you to Spectrin?

Also, she's now following me on Twitter. Thoughts?!

One way that you could deal with this is by mentioning the wipethefuture website and how it mentioned Sara at Spectrin.
This would remove any possible break in confidence.

Since Matt gave us the last username & password via Alex's flowers, perhaps you should say that Matt sent you to her.
