Depends. It might have a supernatural effect close to gaslighting and the ability to cloud perception and logic - a temporary madness, so to speak. A lot of the stories on Something Awful implied that, after all.

I do see where you're coming from. A temporary madness seems much more Slender-ish than say, the SM-taking-over-your-mind-and-forcing-you-to-do-bad- things-all-to-benefit-his-as-of-now-undetermined-plans theory.

 		In entry 18 what if Masky wasn't running to J but FROM SM? Masky was TTA trying to meet with J but when SM shows up tries to get J out of there and J thinks he is actually attacking him. J throws Masky to the ground and Masky knows he doesn't have much time so tries to get J out of there by pushing him back towards the exit. The whole ordeal takes too much time due to J's lack of understanding and SM gets them both. Plus wouldn't it be hard for one "human" to drag J to the car by themselves? If J was dragged it would have to be either SM or two people (Alex and Brian?)

 		Viking, you're speculating at that point. J says he doesn't remember how he got to his car, and he's pretty obviously running out of the house. All it seems to hint at is a possible SM encounter.

either that, or a "replacement TTA", but gamejack is the most probable. Thought I would throw replacement out there just in case.

 		Well dragging aside, I think it is very possible Masky was running from SM.
He lost the element of surprise when J turned and he even sat there for a minute. If he was going to attack him (or even SM) all along then he would've hidden the whole time or been sitting in a ready position, not in the way he was sitting. The way he was sitting reminded me of a conference. Hands where you could see them and sitting upright out in the open. The reason he sat there after J called "Alex" may have been because he wanted him to call him by who he was: TTA.

Then SM pops in to say hey and everyone goes nuts.

If it was real I'm sure J would have said it was related. Plus doesn't even look like TTA quality :/

 		Yea, the only way I'll let that video pass is if J allows it as a response.

As for Mask attacking J... again, just with the style of the videos, subtlety is not what they're shooting for. If something happens, they will paint in a way so you know it happened that way. If SM popped in, it would have been obvious and clear to us- it's just the style of the videos.

Other than the appearances of SM, the major plot points appear to be out in the open. Alex was being stalked (J said it up front in Entry 1), Alex started getting antisocial and confrontational (screaming match in Entry 9), Alex started filming himself (most of the entries aren't from MH), etc. I think at this point the ARG aspect of MH is to find where SM is hiding in the Entries. That seems consistent with the Create Paranormal Images theme ("when you see it, ...") as well as the theme of the MH saga (the audience develops the same SM-obsession that Alex did, seeking him out in every scenario). For a horror film, that's an awesome pulling-in point for the audience - making them experience what the main characters went through. As for the plot, I don't think they'd make anything too vague (unless they were going to reveal the full truth about it later).
