We did discuss it... sort of. I broached the idea a couple dozen pages back, but it was quickly drowned out by one of the new revelations, and we never got back to it.

Yeah I think we talked about it in during our Yahoo conversation.

Hi guys. Haven't posted in a while, because I was doing a play (about the 50's, why not) and boy a lot has happened huh? I just got caught up. Well, anyways, I decided to play bioshock again because I was in the mood, and I noticed something. You know who could be both the captain of the boat AND Jeremiah Lynch? Fontaine! He played atlas so well. And the captain sort of sounds like him, dontcha think?

Ironically, I think Fontaine is too GOOD a voice actor to do that abysmal accent that Lynch had. No one who can do as good a face accent as Fontaine did for Atlas would then decide to do an awful one like Lynch's.
It is entirely possible, however, that Captain Casey Ferrence is Lynch.

But, on the topic of Fontaine, there is another suspect, I believe I've mentioned before...

They are definitely the same person, just compare ears and eyebrows. Identical to say the least.

The instant I heard the audio diary it aroused my suspicions, and lo and behold, I found that they look alike as well as sounding alike. So yeah...

James Millard Oakes = Frank Fontaine.

He's not Lynch, but I doubt they'd toss us that info if they didn't intend for us to use it somehow. I wonder how it's going to be important.

Has anyone else suspected that Capt. Casey Ferrence, somehow, might be one of Lutwidge's alter egos? His pseudonym follows the same pattern he always uses, plus the C's could be completed and turned into O's, and one can easily see an L in F. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy, but it seems like a better fit then Rod Killian Quain did...

But we know where Lutwidge is. And Mark knows what he looks like.

No, my money's on Lynch.

There is also a note on the crate. Some incident and Puerto Plata with the locals and some refugees. Captain turned them over to the local law enforcement. And one of the crew has also seen the red lights, not reported in English speaking media.

Mark is concerned about what he is missing due to the oncoming storm.

but how was Fontaine Atlas AND Oaks at the same time during the civil war? the only reason he was able to be Atlas was because everyone thought Fontaine was dead.

I get the feeling that Atlas was more of a voice and an idea than someone actually fighting. People just knew they were fighting for him. As JMO, he could be in the fray, without people knowing he was Atlas. Atlas would've been a huge target.

Given that Oakes Vanished before Fontaine made his name in Rapture, I think he was Oakes first, THEN Fontaine, THEN Atlas. He wasn't more than one of them at once.

Lutwidge recognized him as Oakes because he'd seen Oakes's picture in the news clippings about the Vanishing.

Except wasn't the civil war between Fontaine and Ryan? And in one of Lutwidge's writings, he talks about Oakes' wife helping him when he was injured. I thought that was during the civil war.

Also a new message from Inman. Says he's got details on the C-47, but the damn storm is fuzzing out all of the details...

Could that be Diane McClintock?

Nope. Lutwidge said it was Oakes' wife.
