EXACTLY.

Dudes, get some earbud headphones. This sound has been appearing since Entry 9. I noticed it in Entry 17, but I think most people wrote it off as an artifact. I still think there's something to it, though. It doesn't appear in all entries by any means, but it does turn up repeatedly through the series.

Sidenote: Listening to creepy music after watching that video is AWESOME.

 		Okay, something just hit me: if TTA's "Messages" is referring to Masky being in J's room (multiple) nights, then does that change the meaning of the face seen at the end of Messages?
-Is it the identity of Masky?

J seems to think that Masky is TTA, and I'm not so sure that I disagree with him after this entry.

 		My theories
Here are my theories:

I believe that the masked man is TTA who is also alex and he is doing whatever he can to get jay help. There are several things we've seen that support this:

-TTA makes a video exposing the fact that jay hasn't revealed that he's been filming himself. He obviously wants the videos to be shown and people to know.

-Alex was only seen hurt once in the series of videos: in the head. On the masked man, his body seems perfectly intact but he is wearing a mask that conceals his face.

-In entry 18 and 19 the masked man blacks Jay out and then takes him somewhere else right as the interference begins in the video. Could it be that the masked man is saving alex before the slender man comes along?

-In entry 18 the masked man is simply making rasping noises. Slender man wounded alex in the head. My theory here is that slender man finally did some massive physical harm to alex's head or even cut out his tongue so that he cannot speak after dementing him by pursuing him.

 		Also we can discuss the video signal.

The video says that he will surround him and close his windows. Even though it is said in a threatening tone, doesn't it sound like a protective gesture rather than an offensive one? And when the video says "come back" the text is soft and blended. It feels more like a request than a command.

Actually, the no tongue theory interests me now. I remember a post earlier in the Trailhead mentioning that one video had a sound seemed like "Alex" being said by a person without a tongue. Hm.

I'm kind of being reminded of Phantom of the Paradise now.

I agree with you that Alex is certainly involved in this. In the morning, after I try to sleep, I'm going to go over this and see where my pet theory of Alex stands as well. I agree that everyone's actions here are ambiguous at best. But if you ask me, the way that Masky lingered around J's room...that doesn't look benign and "let me pull up a chair and nap beside you". Also, this started after his return from the house in Entry 18. So whatever happened after that camera went out caused J's home to be Masky's target, or available to him.
Only one thing for now: the tongue thing is impossible, because Alex and J talked after that particular entry (when J received Alex's tapes). Unless Alex's tongue was removed after Alex moved away.

Edit: before I go, just wanted to give you credit on the message in Signal too. Depending on how you say it, it could be almost comforting and protecting. Maybe Masky is protecting J?
TTA will most likely comment on this development in an ambiguous but yet shocking manner

First off, the idea would be that the removal of his tongue occured some time between his move and his dissapearance.

And look at video number 19 again. He looks at jay for an extended period of time. He is watching jay VERY carefully. What in the world do you think he's looking for? Also, look at how he checks out the camera. He doesn't touch it, but it appears as though he is scrutinizing it carefully. He is probably checking to see if it is still working.

The video also says "find me" at the very end, which I think also shapes the tone to be a little friendlier.

Anyway, the real question now is of course what the hell Masky (can we call him TTA now?) wants.

Back in entry 18, J SHOULD have been murdered horribly. He gets attacked by a masked man, who then gets the upper hand when J falls unconscious from his mysterious sickness. But he wasn't. Instead, Masky did...something to J and then ended up carrying him back to his car like a gentleman.

The same thing is happening here. Masky enters J's room like SM did to Alex in entry 12, but J hasn't been harmed physically like Alex was. Masky seems to have somehow gained SM's slendermanipulation ability, as he's able to black out J's memory for 3 hours while he once again does something, and also seems to have a mild version of SM's electronic distortion.

Of course, the obvious answer is Masky woke J up so he could start up his editing suite and make some totally rad distortion filter videos for him, and then bludgeoned him over the back of his head so he wouldn't remember.

Also, I wouldn't be quick to jump that Masky is Slenderman wearing a human form or whatever. Masky is linked to SM somehow, but I think Slenderman is still a very slender and distinct entity, as that doll back in 18 hints.

It makes a bit of sense now, TTA may have used J coming back to track down where he lives. Now J has been filming himself and discovers Masky in his room, he even said himself he has locked himself in his house and is not leaving....

 		The only thing I'm really hoping on right now is that they don't play up the mysterious illness angle in conjunction with the pill in entry 17. Any kind of infectious slenderman disease plot twist is going to fucking suck so hard.

My first thought was that Slendy was becoming more human. But that was just ind of dumb. I think it's pretty much a given that TTA is connected to Slendy. He's certainly doing some very slender-ish things, moreso than a normal person would do, like he's becoming more like SM. How, I don't know. But that's what we're in this to find out.
