OK, I screwed up. Didn't go join the Rossum circus exactly, but Matt
emailed this morning saying "I'm a dead man without you", and so I
told Sara I was going to go get coffee and despite her protests just
left with my laptop and my wallet. Now Matt and I are holed up and
he's told me everything. Rossum threatened to send him to some kind of
attic place if he doesn't bring me in by end of today. If I don't go
with him, I'm guessing I won't see him again. I can't take that risk
but also can't take not seeing him.

I know this is probably the stupidest thing I've done in my life. I'm
only telling you and chixor b/c... I don't know why. I'm sorry if I
disappointed you and I'm really sorry if I'm supposed to be saving the
world, but am behaving like a foolish girl instead. Trouble is, that's
what I am.

Also, he says the tattoo will be a death sentence for me. If I'm no
good for their experiments, they'll just kill me. Apparently it has
nothing to do with runes or whatever. It's all the chemicals in the
recipe, but it has to be spread in that snowflake-y shape so it'll hit
specific nerves. Something like acupuncture and chemistry together. I
don't understand it. All I got was that if Sara tattoos me, he hopes
she gets the wrong spot.


My reply:

Here are the two messages. I will mix the ink and try to prevail upon
Alex to allow for a stave tattoo.

On a different note, I finally heard back from my colleague Paul
Candel. He is traveling from Nepal to Bangkok, where he will await
Alex and me (if I can convince her to join me). I have sent him the
picture of Alex that I had saved from her blog and he will attempt to
overnight us new identification. Should something go wrong, I am
leaving the key to my locker at Grand Central station, together with a
pre-paid credit card in the inside pouch of Alex' travel bag. All
documentation from Paul will be sent to Mailboxes, Etc.. The address
is in my locker.

I will continue to keep you informed as I'm able. This is also a good
point to say Thank You.

I'm ashamed that I ran off on you like that. You're right, it showed
very bad judgement. I just couldn't bear be the cause of something bad
happening to Matt and I really needed to see him.

Regarding Kara, Chixor already emailed me about this and I asked Matt.
He says the chances of having the genetic brain condition were 50/50
for us. I got it and my sister didn't. He said that Rossum checked her
records extensively, because they would've much rather had two test
subjects vs. just me. So, the good news in all this is that we don't
need to worry for her.

I don't know what we're going to do, but obviously just surrendering

we're going to head over to the motel in the next few hours.

 		I suggested she tattoo herself so that Sara's death wouldn't be for nothing and she could finish what Sara set out to do.

She's not going to be able to do that. The tattoo is actually about interfering with the nerve endings at the base of the brain. Hard enough for someone to do it that can see what they're doing.

 		Holy cow. Ouch. I wasn't aware that was part of the process. At least she's got the stuff with her for now. There may be opportunity for someone to assist with it later.

As Chixor said, this messes up the timeline, as now there is no one to rescue her.

 		Not as yet, all we know is she was shot in the stomach, was bleeding a lot and Alex thought she wasn't breathing

 		Alex is leaving Tuscon and headed to NYC to find the locker Sara mentioned in Grand Central Station. She doesn't sound like she intends to go back to Tuscon, which means the nearest Dollhouse listed on the Rossum intranet is DC. That's only a train ride or so away, I think.
