So uh...nobody's mentioned this (that I noticed, point me out if I'm wrong and I'll delete this), but there's a mask in the window AFTER masked man appeared showing that mask WASN'T with J while J was gone. This means that either J was on his own or that it's SM taking J around.

If you read any of the original SM fiction from the SA thread you get that he likes to take people away and control them...

ANYWAYS, my theory is that MM is someone who either was affected by SM and went insane or is someone that saw SM "get" Alex. Either way, he's either trying to protect J or just trying to observe more SM gore.

Can we make a goddamned sticky thread about the lack of connection between SA's Slenderman and MH?

It may not exactly be SA's Slenderman, but it is a Slenderman.

If it looks like a Slenderman and acts like a Slenderman, it is a Slenderman. Or a spy. But that is unrelated.

Exactly.

Seconded. The only repository of Slenderman fiction we have really is the SA thread; which is where the man who is running Marble Hornets got the idea for Marble Hornets and where a rough idea of Slenderman came from.

If we're calling this character Slenderman (which we should since the first Marble Hornets videos were linked in the SA Slenderman thread by the creator) then while EVERYTHING might not apply, we should look at certain common themes and not just disregard any potential leads.

i don't think he targetted children exclusively, but it might just be the SA fellows basing it off've stories parents tell kids to scare them into being good

Exactly, we can't forget the inspiration of this whole thing. Much of it is still in play.

Isn't Masky's head visible in the window prior to his appearance, but not after? I think it first shows up as J is taking off his shoes.

And, at the spy comment: is this thing a real-life game of Team Fortress 2? Slendy's the spy, Masky's the scout, and J the heavy? Alex the engineer?
(obviously a joke, but would be hilarious if that was their goal)

Watch it in HQ and maximize the video, before he's readily visible you can see him standing a few feet away, then he steps into the light and you get a good look at him in the window. Then of course he shows up and Jay disappears.

At this point the window is completely dark, but by the end of the video the area where Masky was while Jay was tying his shoes has a white circle in it again, faintly, but there. It shows up like he walked up to the window. I'll upload the contrast pictures later I'm on my netbook, but you can see dark circles where the eyes were. I verified this with a friend before posting, so I'm not ENTIRELY insane.

I don't see Jay being the heavy, maybe the medic?

K, medic it is.

And Thenre, I haven't watched it in HQ, so that's probably why I missed it. At school tomorrow, I'll go through it again on HQ.

That shows MM NOT there in the first one (it's before Jay goes to bed) and MM there while Jay is gone. It's very clearly seen. I tried playing with the contrast but the fact that he was behind blinds made it hard to single him out.

I can see him there, now. Quite clearly, really. So Masky was watching the room after J left. Interesting.

I got huge scaps of all the times you can see Masky watching J through the window.

1. J walks in, no Masky (for reference).
2. Taking shoes off
3. Masky watching J while he sleeps.
4. Masky (or something) watching the empty room while J is gone.

2 and 4 are hard to see, and the face in the window in the last one does look different, so I refrain from saying if it's Masky or Slenderman. I just know that there is definitely something there.

Because even Victor Suero's original Slender Man on SomethingAwful didn't target exclusively children :/

It started with him mind controlling and taking children and by the end full grown adults were being mind controlled, made to kill their friends and loved ones, made to commit suicide, killed, driven insane, or just taken.

If TTA has encountered Slenderman I think it's obvious that he's been driven insane. Mayhaps it is Alex or Brian who killed the other, or even Tim or Brian. We can't know at this point. (Note: I still think mask is Tim)
