Considering the latest turn the image may be Camouflaged - but I can't figure out the password. Maybe the name of the original file has a clue in it, but it got chopped by whomever posted it (hence the _~1.jpg) - what was the original file name?

If they are using the Wiki pix, it's original name was: Frans_Hals_-_Portret_van_René_Descartes.jpg

The pix on Wiki is 151k. The one posted to the forums is 263k, so its very possible its been stegged.

 		I posted the pic, but the file name on the pic is the one it was sent to me with. I didn't change it. I think other people here got the pic too.

I popped it into a hex editor hoping to find a file header so I could just brute force the imbedded file out, but no luck - its not an embedded zip file, anyway, so I'll keep looking. The only thing this has told me was that it originated from "G:\Gina\ARG\" so I guess we should call Gina and ask her for the password Wink

I tried various combinations of the letters received, SONIA et al, but no dice there - I didn't try every possible combination, though, so it might be worth rigging up a batch file to run through all permutations but this seems like a big waste of time.

Has anyone had any luck with the "clues"? Whoever posted the "descartes is working with us" email, could you quote us his email word-for-word? I got the impression you gave us the jist of it. I tried googling "Descartes is sneaky." hoping that would give us a lead but the ONLY result in google was *drumroll* this thread. lol

I'm going to go back to reading up on Descartes but I'm doubtful about finding the password right now. It seems like we missed something or theres more information out there that we didn't get for some reason.

no his email said descartes is still working for them and no that was the whole entire email i didnt paraphrase

 		I am quite sure that the pic that has been posted on the page before does not contain a valid camouflaged file. So maybe something went wrong during uploading the file!?

could it be camouflage? has anyone tried that? or is it descartes. i'm gonna ask him to send the pic again see if that helps.
