Anyone else eseen the new pages? Internet? Towel? Don't know how new it is. I read through all the new stuff you guys have been working on and soooooo pissed I missed the Omegle chat night but I'm glad this is all happening. There's stuff in the source of the new page, it says 'But there was d in 'Kurt''. I used to be a big Nirvan fan and I know that for some weird reason, Cobain spelled his name 'Kurdt' sometimes. I'm guessing he's referring to that. Also, there was a book of Kurt's journals released, in some ways hatshoe is similar. I emailed him about it tonight.

Apart from that, I've missed you guys! lol. Hope I can be online more than I have been to check up on things if life permits.
Didn't even notice them. I am very glad you mentioned them.

Towel makes me lol and Internet makes me think he's a *channer even more.

Yeah, Internet does look like a demotivational. But to be honest, which of us hasn't come into contact with the chans in some way? If you're on the internet, likelihood is that you've seen/used a meme, been trolled by the chans or are one.

I left for work at 6pm EST and because I'm kinda obsessive about stuff, I checked hatshoe's site right before I left and there was nothing new then.

I'm still pretty lost about what's even going on at this point and what we should be doing. It seems like there was a lot of momentum in the beginning and now hatshoe's just this interesting dude that everyone wants to talk to, lol.

It's probably worth re-mentioning that he (certainly intentionally) misspelled "Cobaine" in Grave.

We have no shortage of clues; we just have no idea what to do with them.

Sorry for the almost double-post. I"m anxiously waiting for my boyfriend to come home, in this sleet and freezing rain, so there will be no sleep for me for some time.

I just checked my email and I got a response from Hat at 8:18pm. I won't copy the whole email I wrote, as it was mostly introductory. I did tell him I was concerned about him dying in three years. I also mentioned I was concerned that someone would replicate the recipe, since someone mentioned it should be tried a few pages back.

Please worry not, friend!
The situation won't be dire for quite some time.
I would not suggest the recreation of this item either.
Even though it would not really be complete, it still draws attention.
I believe we shall be friends.

I've read all 30-some pages a couple of times now and I'm lost as to what we're just not getting. Guess since I've got some free time, I'll pour over everything again.

ETA: I got another email from Hat in response to a chatty email I sent him. I promised that I was working hard on the @live.com information, even though I fail at these kinds of things. His response:

Quote:
Friend!
Might I say:
You are on the right path.

So the @live info is what we need to focus on. I've tried numerous variations of hatshoeSPLATlive.com, carlriversSPLATlive.com and keep getting locked out. "Green" has to be involved somehow definitely, as noted previously. I'm still wondering about the morse code message and how/if it relates.

Green...
In a search concerning Kurt Cobain i fell over a name, "Tom Green", maybe this has relevance?

Here's the text i found, don't know if it refers to Tom Green the comedian, i'll let people more familiar with Cobains past decide on that.

Quote:
No fingerprints were found on the shot gun that Kurt supposedly used to shoot himself in the head. There were 4 "latent prints" too faint and smudged to be of any use. Cops said this seemed to look as if someone wiped off the prints that had been there. Surely a man who just blew his head off can't pause to wipe a gun down. But it gets better - the gun wasn't even checked for fingerprints until one month after the "Suicide", on the request of Tom Green. If the gun was handled carefully by police so as not to add prints to it, there'd at least be Kurt's prints on it. If they didn't handle it carefully, it'd be full of prints from all the people who'd touched it. Why was it clean?

I am wondering if Green is simply a mistype. I could be wrong, but the private investigator used was named Tom Grant. I went through the document where you found Tom Green and it is the only mention of a Tom Green. I wonder if they mistyped Tom Grant for whatever reason.

It could certainly be a mistype, it's mentioned further down that "Green requested that she call and ask him to come back to seattle" though, just one line down from writing Grant.

It's worth leaving the option open at least until i get a response from Hatshoe hopefully clarifying if Tom Green has anything to do with this.

I keep coming back to the Morse Code message and how Hat translated it incorrectly, which is supposed to be meaningful.

"The Windows Live ID is incorrect"
hatshoeSPLATlive.com (and any variation I could think of)
toartSPLATlive.com (that was from the properly translated morse code message)
watcherofcarlSPLATlive.com

Active Windows Live Accounts
carlriversSPLATlive.com
tsareSPLATlive.com (Hat's Morse Code translation)

I've tried "green" as a password for both, with no luck. Looking back at the original source code message:

Quote:
<live>

the word "green" almost has to be the password to get into the live.com account. So it's not the password that we need, it's the account name. I'm emailing Hat now and hope to get a response before work.

Hmm, tsare could be an anagram for tears and toart another for ta-rot (would have posted it as one word but it's apparently forbidden).

i suppose it's possible we use the toart=>tsare as a mapping, turning green into gseen, or grttn, or something.

of course it's also possible i need to put a russian hat on and do the tetris dance to unlock hatshoe level 3, who knows. we actually have *too much* data; it's like the proverbial needle in the haystack. i mean, we don't even know for sure that the solution involves sending an email (although I increasingly believe it does).

if i have time later today i'll bang on it some more.

I don't think I tried any of the anagrams. "Tears" and "Stare" were the ones I thought might be the most likely.

I emailed Hat to ask him if I am still on the right path or if I had completely veered off it. He gets back to me late in the evening or early, early morning. My last email from him was at 4:42 AM my time. I asked if it was the same time there as my time. I know many people have brought up DID in connection with Hat, but I started thinking that if he isn't sleeping at all, maybe some of the journal entries are a result of lack of sleep.

fezzik -- That's what I've been thinking too. We have 30-some pages of lots and lots of ... stuff. People who are "close", "closest", "on the right path". It seems like we have a lot of the right information, but no context to use it.
